infection in scars...

HI BEEN BK TO THE GP AND IVE GOT INFECTIONS IN 3 OF THE SCARS:cry: SO PAINFUL AND SMELLY, NEVER HAD IT BEFORE SO EMBARRESED. ON ANTIBIOTICS AND GOTA GO BK ON MONDAY, 2 OF THE WOUNDS HAVE HEALED OK.... CANT UNDERSTAND AS DRESSINGS HAVE ONLY COME OFF AT THE SURGERY... FEEL AWFUL THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED, MAKES ME FEEL DIRTY AND I SHOWER EVERY DAY..

Aw Sue - I feel for you hun. Don't feel so down on yourself, I'm not an expert at all but it's just one of those unfortunate things that can happen to someone through no fault of there own. xxx

Didn't want to read and run. poor you, hugs all round xx I am sure you will start to feel better after a couple of days on the pills. And don't feel dirty, it is just one of those things, and bad luck it happened to you.

Sue its just one of them things that can happen to anyone, its not your fault so dont blame yourself. The last thing the doctor will be thinking about is how you got it, his problem is how to treat it to get you better. Sending you a big ((Hug)) hope you get it sorted soon. Janice xx

thanks every one, when i sat in surgery i thought it was the lady sat by me that smelt, one thing ive noticed is my sence of smell has changed!! altho i could see it on the dressing i didnt realise it was me......

last week when it was ozzing they took a swap and it came bk clear.. they did another today... i almost passed out when i looked at it asked the nurse to cover it asap or id pass put!!.... nothing bothers me as i deal with open sores etc with work, but this nearly made me hit the floor!! im so angry ive got infection as its so blimming sore aswell, but on the bright side ive lost 11 lb since 7th may!!!!! day of my op!!! xx

Congratulations on your weight loss. One of my biggest fears is infection , so i really feel for you, when i read about the banders having their ' fill' it makes my knees go :-0 I hope you feel better soon , it will soon go, keep in touch xxxx

hi :wavey:, Don't feel embarressed, its your body working like it should to get rid of infection, so look at it like a needed process more than a failiure on your part, the bodys a wonderfull machine and when your showering, its doing it's bit too cleaning the inside to out x I had 2 c-sections, my 1st i was in agony with infection in the scar line, it was the most smelly:ashamed0005: thing i'v ever experienced with horrible pain to boot! it took 9 weeks to recover form that, my 2nd c-section was a breeze, no infection no pain no smell and doing house work the day i was discharged 2 day's post op! i really think it's alot to do with immideate post op theatre cleaning in hospital xi hope you start to feel better soon and congratulations on the weight loss xxx

Well done on the weight loss, i also got an infection in my drain hole but i left the hosp with mine, i had the D/N come and see me every day to change my dressings. she used honey only took 2 weeks and it was cleaned up. hugs to you and hope you feel a lot better soon. xx

Don't worry. I got an infection in my biggest wound. It seemed to take ages to heal and I worried that it never would. But low and behold, once I focused less on it (and stopped looking at every 5 mins!) it finally healed up.
It looks pefect now. It's just one of those things!
