I feel much better now thanks Hun but back on the ball tomorrow to find my date I'm not waiting without a fight n defo not laying down coz I'm sure they can give me answers :)

Thanks sweetie....been on the fone this morning and spoken to my nurse. Apparently the only reason the lady that queue jumped me wasn't sent home was because she was already in theatre when they got a call to say cancel all operations for the day due to an emergency ( road traffic accident involving more than 1 life) as theatres were needed and because bariatric are now classed as a level 3 importance ( which is a good thing because they used to be a 5 ) all non level 1 were cancelled due to the need of beds. I will now be put on priority list and even though they will not be funded for weekends my surgeon will be using Saturdays when he can to try get through a back log. I think this is so much better than the information that I was given yesterday because I would have felt so much better as it wasn't the lady queue that had the emergency in surgery and I had nightmares last night about what had happened to her. So back to waiting but now I don't mind and feel better about my surgeon and his team and can get all excited and this time less stressed when my new date comes I feel I should be able to cope with it much better than I did. Also back to keeping track properly and trying to eat healthier. :)
 
What a fantastic attitude hunni , i knew you'd bounce back quick............. your so like me LOL selfless, never ask for help, always there for others and sometimes we find ourselves pushed from pillar to post ....... so am also pleased for the reasoning.... i thought i was a possiblity and lets be honest they are never going to take any risk with selective surgery. Of course they have to be prepared for complications too.... on the day i was it was similar..... they prioritise the ops according to the most complicated first so they get the HDU bed and everyone else fits in around depending which is why it is how it is and of course if an emergency crops up theres nothing we can do..... i know my surgeon was well grumpy on my day, i later discovered it was because of the bed situation .....so you can bet your surgeon was jumping too. Also point of note, i know another lady down here who was canceled last minute and she flatly refused to wait any longer than necessary and kick up a right stink... they sent her to the private hospital and the NHS paid LOL.... of course i'm sure it was exact same surgeon but it just shows they have ways and means!!

Am so dead pleased your right back on the ball today, no dramas LOL (unlike me) head down and stuck back in wtg just think a second bite of the cherrie :) all will seem so much better next time............ call it a trial run LOL plus your boy will be back and sorted too x x x x x xx HUge hugs x x x x x
 
Hi Cupid it would have been better for you to get the right information but like you said no one could complain about all the surgeons being used and all the equipment , hands on deck, you like everyone would want others to be helped especially due to something so serious. As the say things happen for a reason,so your just going to play the waiting game but it shouldn't be to long because it will make their list even longer so fingers crossed it will be sooner rather than later you never know we might end up with the same day. Keep smiling and keep up the healthy eating it will still do you good :)

Why don't you phone them first thing they should know by now the new schedule. Just to confirm while you wait for it to arrive in the post. At least you would know when, one of the secretaries should know after all they will be sending out the letters. Tell them you need to know ASAP because of making new arrangements and you need to plan :)

I kept ringing for mine but I was trying to work round my sons surgery aswell
 
Awww hope you get the new date real soon keep your chin up hard I know but it is best if you stay positive
