January 2014 surgeries

Mmmm anxiety really kicking in now, really wound up about surgery day next Tuesday.. Keep telling myself it will be with it but scared at the same time.

You will be fine. Try not to stress I've had more operations than months of the year !

previous bander, now awaiting by pass or sleeve this year.

I think we all do hun...in our own way however confident we are, as I said on previous post, for most of us the pros out weigh the cons xx

Hi. I thought I'd introduce myself on this thread. I had a gastric band on 16th jan in Birmingham by mr super. I'm 2 weeks post op today & getting quite excited about the puréed carrot I'm currently cooking!

Hey crucon, perfectly understandable feelings but seriously you will be fine. The staff are lovely at Albyn and will help put you at ease and after you have had the op they will be wanting you to come back in 6 months to see the results :)

Hi Emma and welcome to the losers bench! It funny the foods that excite us now eh! For me today it was puréed beef casserole!!

I never thought purée would be so great! Tomorrow I'm making batches of puréed swede, parsnip & carrot with apple, pear & raspberries for pudding. I'll b freezing some in the little pots i used when I was weaning my toddler!

Hi Em,
My bff has a band :) lost & maintained -7stones, she's havin TT in a few wks.
Enjoy yr tea, welcome & good luck with your bandventure x

I'd like to loose 7 stone too! 1stone 10llb so far. Already saving for the tt (& the rest!)
Ps the carrot is amazing. It's nearly all gone now

Some people just aren't meant to be thin. The bmi charts tell me i should loose a couple more but i think that would be too much for me. I'll see when I get down 7. 7 is a enough of a goal for me for now

its just minimal now hun, the thing that hurts the most is the bruises on my stomach from the injections. My right main site is still tender if I move too quick or turn the wrong way too much, but im sleeping in my normal position now, dont need pillows for support anymore, eating and drinking a little more each day as well. I had a major moment a few days afterwards when I couldnt stop feeling sick and I was really miserable and regretted having it done, but thats all in the past now. Im learning to acknowledge when Ive had enough and what to avoid. In all honesty its the best thing I have ever done, and I only wish I had had it 10 years ago, my life wouldve been so different now!! Cant wait for the summer, really looking forward to getting out and walking in the sunshine! xxx :flirt2:
