Take what you like from this forum and leave the rest. That's what I do people all have different styles. I personally take a soft kind route but others can be a bit more direct. Sometimes I cringe when I read some posts on here and would be crushed if they were directed at me. I just try to think we are all people with head issues!!! As well as weight issues and I genuinely believe we all care about each other (((Huggs))))

I am really struggling with my weight I am sitting at 12stone down from 15.5. I was banded in August. I did get down to 11.7 but have gained half a stone. The band is a tool but we actually have to do all the hard work once the honeymoon period is over. It is harder than I ever believed possible. I can still do a full plate of sweet and sour and fried rice or a full portion of fish and chips. Having said that I am seeing my surgeon in a weeks time again as they think I may have a leak in my band. I have never really felt any restriction!!!
But Chrystal on the other hand has lost an amazing amount of weight with no fills. So obviously Chrystal has a better band head than I have but is all down to what's in our head. I still find it incredibly hard to stop eating when I'm finished my small portion ;-(
Chrystal posted a great link on her diary about how the band actually works. It doesn't necessarily stop us overeating, we have to do that for ourselves. But it does keep us feeling full for longer - the people who are most successful don't go for fills because they are eating too much at meals. But they get hungry quicker in between meals. Maybe Chrystal would re post the link for you
Do I regret having my band? Hell no! It's an amazing tool - i just need to bring it out the cupboard, dust it down and start using it properly. But I just wanted to post this to let you understand. From a struggling bander - and there are many of us on here - that this is So so hard and we still have to do the hard stuff day to day
But....I think you will do great and I would love to hear all about your journey. So keep posting. Good luck with your pre op diet xxxx
