Manchester Meet-Up Saturday 4th December 2010

Hello Everyone... I'm putting both of those dates forward since I am not sure if I will be well enough to join you... but I'm putting my best foot forward so don't be at all surprised!

It would be so lovely to see everyone xxx

Hi Steph they should both be OK for me honey so just let me know which you decide upon. Trafford centre is fine for me too.

Well thats at least four of us, which makes it worth doing. As well as the date we need to sort out where in the Trafford Centre we are meeting because I have only been there twice and dont know it that well.
Also, who will be coming? Ie...you and partner, kids, friend.
For me it will be me and Tom.
Steph xx

I cant do the first one, hubbys working! Hes going to find out tomorrow about the 4th Dec, he works shifts so he only has a weeks wrote down at a time. (ive got my fingers crossed) In the Trafford Centre theres a massive eating centre called the orient.....theres a large water feature in the middle in front of the stage so we could meet there if thats ok. There is everything from McD's and KFC to top notch restaurants so theres all manner of places to get drinks from :D XX

Is that bit going to be heaving busy though Jacqui, no good if there isnt enough seating to all sit together and be able to have a good old natter. Is there not a Costa or something like that or even better a Starbucks?
Steph xx

You know Steph, just out of interest, Starbucks coffee are blacklisted by our family.

The reason: Troops out in Afghanistan wrote to the head office saying they loved starbucks and could they send over some coffee capsule thingies (they were going to pay for them) and Starbucks replied that they couldn't because they don't agree with troops being in Afghanistan

Well they may not agree with it but they are there - end of story. And a bit of morale support wouldn't have hurt.

How nasty is that? Disgusting ....Im sure the troops would rather not be there but they dont say Oh well, sod it fight your own war to us do they? Grrrrrrrrrr to Starbucks!!!!!

Apparently Starbucks say it's because they only donate to registered charities and the troops aren't a registered charity. Emmmm :sigh:

Im know theres one of them upstairs but Im not sure which one it is, I can soon find out though, give me a few mins :D XX

I didn't realise there were seperate coffee houses in TC. I thought there was only the main eating station. Oh and those little muffin bars here and there.

Theres a costa in there too, in the Great Hall which is the posher bit lol......Its a very large place the Great Hall and I think from looking at the pics from other meets they have met in there before. Theres also cafes in BHS, Debenhams and John Lewis.....not sure how big they are. XX

Im just thinking that the two times we have been there before that hall looks so packed and with us not all meeting at the same place at the same time it might be hard to hold onto enough chairs for everyone to sit together. That and I dont want to be in too packed of a place because the subject matter will get onto WLS and I wasnt sure about prying/judgemental ears! Im a forward planning worrier as you see lol haha
Steph xx

Lol.....The orient is the biggest place in there for drinks, but like I say there are other places that are just dotted about and there is a costa too XX
