New and Nervous

ohorry forgot to say my age. I'm 54

Hi... I really have no clue how to use this forum to make posts. Lol. Nervous wreck. Due to see the consultant at 4pm. Started on a low carb eating plan and walked for an hour as decided that today was the first day of the new me. Just hope the man from delmonte said yes. My hubby said he thinks there will be no problem cause I'm paying for it!!! My BMI is 35 Weighed in at 15 st 5.5 lbs this morning

I think I got it now. Found the reply to thread box.... Meeting Mr Glaagher at 4 today. Nervous. Hope he said yes. My BMI is 35. I weighed in at 15st 5lb this morning. Hubby sais cause I am paying for the op it should be ok. I don't meet the NHS criteria in my area. So here goes, hitting the bath, clothes looked out and the marathon of trying to shave my legs and bits is about to begin. Contortion to reach is HIllarious but exhausting..

Kar. Yes. I'm in.
Surgeon did say the best option for me was to go away and try to diet!!!! So I left the hospital a bit deflated as he told me to go away and consider things. But I contacted him after a few hours and told him to book me in. Waiting for a date

I have been trying to find your diary to follow your journey. I am struggling to navigate the site lol

Loving your avatar of that gorgeous GSD. I used to volunteer with the GSD rescue here in Scotland and fostered two big boys who just never left. Lost them at age eight and nine. Dodge just passed last July. Rescued a wee rotti and a wee staff now. My doggie friends just can't believe I don't have a shepherd in my life. But hey, all the dogs need a break ;-)

Are you pre or post op? How has your journey been so far?

hi kursty, im getting my sleeve in just under three weeks, so looking forward to it.
yes I love GSD's, I have my old one put down last year he was nearly 14 so quite an age. My younger one is 3.
Have you booked in for a band? I initially thought of the band but went for the sleeve as its a long term tool.

Well done on booking kursty! The benefit of being private is you don't have the emotional roller coaster of waiting and uncertainty like the nhs! Down side is it costs you £9000 for a sleeve!! I paid yesterday...bye money!

I am also going private as I don't meet the criteria for NHS - bmi36. I'm going to France for bypass on 3 September and costs £5500.

I know, I have just received the letter asking for the cash :-( I will hand over my credit card tomorrow. £6'200 mine is costing... I am not brave enough to go abroad :-( and the Nuffield is near to me and I fancied the surgeon (well not literally lol). Though have to say he was a bit if a poster boy, a mature one. I think when I see him in his scrubs I will think I am an extra on the set of grays anatomy ;-)

Oh ok so £6500 for a band is that expensive!? I mean I know £6500 is expensive - but for a band? I'm sure I've seen it around the £5k mark at some places!

When you going for the op?
