Welcome lyndunkia; you're probably feeling a little fragile, but your strength will come on in leaps and bounds. We look forward to sharing your journey.

Its a really weird feeling after fighting tooth and nail for two years I can't believe ive had it done its like a dream and also a little scary. I 100 per cent know i have done the right thing maybe I am still a little in shock. I was worried until they took me down that they wouldnt do it. x

Hi Lyn, My op was 3.11.11 and I found this site yesterday, it seems to be an excellent site and everyone is so friendly. I think you'll be glad that you signed up to a site that is populated by British people (because we talk the same food language) most info seems to be US based and they have different food products to us.
I'm glad that you feel you've done the right thing, there will be little ups and downs but we will all feel so much better in ourselves mentally and physically when we reach the stage of throwing our all the oversized clothes :) I had a little 'down' with eating pureed food all the time but it is only for a few weeks and in the scheme of things that is no time at all.
Good luck with your progress and keep in contact with this site, everyone is so friendly and we are all in the same boat - some people can now fit into a life belt :) What kind of a crumby joke was that!!

Hi Helen, Good luck with you op on 5th Jan. I had mine on 3rd Nov and I want to reassure you that there is nothing to worry about. The whole process was, surprisingly, totally pain free. I was dreading waking up and desperately needing chocolate but that didn't happen. I think the new eating regime is designed not only to help the stomach heal but also to re educate the brain. My downfall has been that my stubborn brain started to miss ginger nut biscuits 4 weeks post op and I found that if I dunked them in tea that was very nearly a pureed biscuit, so now I need to get myself off the mid morning and mid afternoon biscuit.
Good luck and don't over do it during Christmas just because you can :)

welcome hun xxx
