Newly banded

Morning huni. Its lovely to hear from you. I bet you can't wait to get your fill done. You will have to let me know how you get on. I wonder how much they put in at 1st? My friend had a band 8 yrs ago now & assures me it doesnt hurt.

I'm back to work today so have a my slim fasts and yoghurts all ready to go. I can also eat the small tubs of rice pudding no problem. In saying that I don't think I've any restriction at all as I have had a couple of nibbles of things & managed just fine. Although I've still technically another week on fluids so I'm not pushing it, but my god its getting me down. I was very proud of myself I took my son to McDonald's the other day and I had a coffee. I've lost 10lb since my op. 1stone 10lb in total since I started my pre op diet so I can't complain. I'm sure my loss would be more if I hadn't realised choc buttons just melt on your tongue & go down a treat. Its time of the month at the mo for me too so im craving choc like mad. On the plus side I've a new dress today for work which is 3 sizes smaller. Keep in touch huni xxx

Wow you have done amazing, such a quick weight loss, congratulations on dropping three dress sizes, I bet you feel fantastic! I bet you cannot wait to go onto soft food now!

Im off to Barcelona for valentines weekend, I'm dreading going out to eat, Its embarrassing asking for a starter for a main course, plus its starting to annoy my husband too, he said I am no fun any more, as before we would go out every weekend to eat and to the cinema, I wish he would understand how hard it is to eat since moving onto solid foods, don't get me wrong I still love food but can only eat smaller quantities, you will notice this too when you go onto solid foods.

How did you get on back at work? xx

Morning work was fine shattered by about 3pm. We had a sales seminar in the morning too, and they send you off with a takeaway sandwich crisp and water lunch. Well I had the water and my colleague enjoyed my sandwich lol. I'm dreading the eating out senario and was thinking I'd be going for the lighter option if the menu had one. I'm sure my other half will be the same then after a moan he'll prob be happy to finish my meal off.

Have a fab time in barcelona huni xxx

Dont you just hate it when everybody is eating around you and you just want to take a bite of that sandwich lol.

I managed to eat a chicken breast today at lunch time without it getting stuck so looks like I can tolerate more solid food now, got my first infill next week!! xx

Oooh exciting. Was you nervous at eating the chicken? Does that sound mad? The reason I ask is I imagine it to be hard to go down. I know when I start eating I'm going to have to really think about taking smaller bites & chewing it loads. It's a real learning curve isn't it. For as long as I remember as soon as I see food its gone in one swift inhale lol xxx

I tried chicken about two weeks ago and could not eat it as it got stuck, by today I was at uni and everything was full of carbs or covered in sauce in the canteen, so thought I would try it again with some broccoli. I cut it into very small bites and after twenty minutes I put my folk down, I had managed to eat 3/4's of it, and was very impressed with myself. Like you before my op, two mouthfuls and it would of been gone lol. Missing a nice juicy steak though, that is my next challenge lol xx

Ooooh yeh steak and chicken are the meats I think "I wonder if I can manage them", I do hope I can, god life without chicken I'd be lost. I usually follow slimming world so I eat alot of chicken. I wonder about ham too, I'm thinking alot about food lately, anyone would think I cant eat lol. I'm actually craving a nice tasty bolognese ..... oh role on next week I can eat my pureed food. I'm currently salivating ha ha ha xxx

Ok so its official. I can no longer drink alcohol. My 1st night out last night since my op 4 weeks ago and I nursed a glass of rose for an hour & a half before I switched to orange juice. Only had a couple of them, you can safely say im a cheap date these days lol.

What do you drink Donna I need inspiration - I hope your ok xxx

My first night out I got absolutely trolleyed - I didn't realise how much quicker I'd be affected by the booze without a bellyfull of food to soak it up. Mortifying!

Ha ha funny. I felt tipsy on that 1 glass of wine. Luckily it was just him indoors who I was out with so I didn't really have to keep up with anyone. God help me in a couple of weeks when im at a party. And another thing I am shocked at my going out shoes were huge on me. I need to get some new shoes now, I suppose that's not a bad thing lol

I had the same thing, had to buy new shoes as well as clothes. Tragedy, having to buy new shoes lol! Enjoy the shopping:)

I best start saving. I'll have A LOT of shoes to replace. (I think i bought shoes cuz buying fat clothes isnt fun!)

band fitted 16.01.14

One glass of rose wine now and I am on my back lol. I tend to have a large glass, and a bottle of water and I just keep topping it up with water so it looks like I am drinking loads of alcohol.

Just got back from Barcelona, had a fab time, managed to eat quite a bit, bad side I put on 3 lbs, but that was probably because I was eating grilled prawns in garlic butter and paella. Back on a strict diet today and infill on Wednesday, feel like I do not have much restriction at the moment.:)

Oooh I bet you had a fab time and 3lb is nothing you'll have that gone in no time especially with having your fill you'll be on fluids and puree for a couple of days so it'll fall off you. Good luck with your fill I want all the details after xxx

Found today really hard, wanted to eat all day, but managed to keep to the program, hopefully tomorrow I will feel some restriction and get off those 3 lbs. will let you know how I get on xx

I'm the same hun. Can't really feel much restriction at all either. I've my dietitians appointment Monday so I'm hoping then to get my fill date. My weight stayed the same this week thats the 1st time since my op so im thinking its because I've started eating pureed and found choc slides down too well. I've gotta kick that habit into touch xxx

I never lost anything when I moved onto the puree stage but after a week it started to shift again. Iv suddenly got a sweet tooth now too, never had one before!. Just totalled up may calorie intake today, it is 853, really I need to be more around 1100, hopefully I will shift those 3 lbs this week. xx
