November 2013 Surgeries

Hello ladies I'm new to all this and I hope you don't mind me joining in. I was banded 21st Jan and just wondered how you all cope. I'll be on fluids for the next 3 weeks following my dieticians advice then pureed. Prior to my 1st fill do you have any restriction? I don't want to undo all the good I've done. But to be honest the thought of eating scares me a little as I dont know how my band will take it. I had a 10ml one fitted.

This is all so new to me. Any advice would be gratefully received xx

Does anyone else feel hungry in the early hours of the morning or suffer with yellow poo?

(Sorry about the latter bit :/)

I do! I have cashew nuts next to my bed and Belvita oaty biscuits....usually have something around 3am.
Use baked beans....just a couple of tbsp's per day will keep you regular, I'm back to normal now, just tiny amounts!

I don't really get hungry at all still, maybe once a day! I have to force myself to eat! My poo sometimes yellowish or greenish! Seems to depend what I've eaten :/ x

I'm with Nicola I don't get hungry and can go all day without food if I'm busy (not good I know!!) As for poo's mine have been pretty normal from day 1

Hi and welcome, you maybe better off posting this in the banders part of the forum I had a bypass so can't really help :)

Well I suppose I dont mean hungry, but peckish, that a cheese triangle or cold meat slice would sort out...?
Hmm I wondered if it was low iron but maybe not :/

I've never suffered head hunger, pre op I used to skip meals and starve myself into weight gain. It can be the same now. Need to force myself to eat or drink anything. Im quite happy to go without completely. I cant sleep til around 3/4am and dinner is usually around 6pm so inbetween the two I get peckish but feel guilty eating so late at night :/

glad to see all you ladies and gents are still doing well over here love keeping up with all your experiences

I have cashews Nic, I read somewhere they are easier to digest. Hope you feel better today xxx

I got cashews too, yesterday in Tesco they had the nuts on offer 3 for 2 so I got 2 bags of cashew and 1 bag of brazils, not tried the brazils yet, as a snack I can manage about 7 cashew halves :)

Omg I forgot how nice chicken korma was! Im even treating myself to a poppadom :) Have to say though the cucumber, tomato and onion chutney is def better than the curry (Id never thought id say that!)

And, despite my disappointment at the hospital last week, ive lost 5lbs since friday :) Got me some bargain digi scales! 3.5 stone lost exactly. Not as fast as some people but ive lost more than my son in weight in under 12 weeks! Not too shabby ^-^
