Preop thoughts

At the beginning I was like I'm going to get surgery like it was no big deal and my mind set was just to get healthy to be around and active for my two girls. But now after talking to ppl and going to support groups and actually seeing that ppl do lose a lot of weight after surgery I'm excited but on the other hand I can't picture myself thinner our in a smaller size clothes because I've never been smaller than a 24. I just wonder if its in the cards for me???

Anyone else think this preop?

I felt the same preop, but only got banded 2 weeks ago, only 17lb lighter and already feeling good about myself

i think the last time i weighed the right weight for my height, was when i was about 8  Even though ive lost 4 stones, i still cant imagine myself slim!! Im a 16/18 at the mo and im convinced that i will never get smaller than a 16, my head just cant comprehend! x

Kait, there are some sites where you can 'slim' a photo of yourself if that helps you a bit. I just look at catalogue pics or magazines & imagine my (slimmer) face on them, lol. Are you worried about the op at all? I hope it all goes fab & before long you won't need to imagine yourself slim, you will just look in the mirror!

Kait,
I felt, and do still feel the same.
I am only 10 weeks out and all my clothes are dropping off me. I have lost 4 stone so far but still can't get my head around the fact that I will still keep loosing!

Its an amazing feeling though!

I have to say when i stopped losing weight 5 months post op i thought i was destined to be the size i am/was. However now i have kickstarted my weight loss again i am sure i will get to a place where i can be truly happy. Not sure if that is at a 'dress size' or a bmi target yet, but i am oh so happy to carry on being a shrinking loser xx
