Seating screwed to the floor !!!!!

So what do we all think about fixed seating, yes, the seating which is screwed to the floor in restaurants such as McDonalds and even Morrison’s Café. Is there anything as embarrassing as just being able to squeeze in . . . still it will be a good test to see if my body shape has changed (I would carry to my middle at the front) xx

Still hate them now I'm slimmer
I like to pull my chair in sometimes the table seems so far away I have to perch on the front of the chair or eat at arms length

its the one thing cafes dont "cater" for!

I avoid them like the plague.... have done all my life - I don't go into any cafe with fixed or bistro style seating.

Even if I could fit in the seat, I wouldn't chose to eat at McDs - its not the type of thing that I like.

I have always avoided those types of seats. Even before I became so big, being a large busted lady and short they tended to end up settled on the top of the table which makes it impossible to do anything:eek:.

I always hated this kind of seating - well, any restaurant seating, to be honest.

Now I still stress about whether I can squeeze through gaps between chairs. I still have a 'fat head', you see.

Awful, I visited Morrisons cafe recently for the first time and couldnt see my food cos my fun bags were in the way!! :eat:

the worst ones are also shaped to fit a slim bottom too, so you end up with lines on your bum where it's hung over the sharp edges.

I would rather avoid eating, rather than embarass myself sitting down at one of those tables. If a cafe or restraunt has those seats I walk past as I refuse to be squashed up in one of those seats.

Some of them make you feel like an elephant on a stool as in the old time circus.
Terrible.
The best Indian restaurant close to me has fixed seating, as a lot of them do, and even before I was as big as I am now I used to drag the tablecloth and all the plates and condiments etc off if I tried to slide out of my seat.
I don't go anymore.
I didn't go often and I won't be going again.
The best Indian takeaway locally is Millon. Amazing food from there and the chips are THE best chips in the world.

The things I really hated pre-op were those cheap white plastic garden chairs. I broke one once at a BBQ and have never sat on one since. I can feel the shame burning my face even now.

Do you think we ever recover from those kind of memories ;) ?

they have got to be the worst - those plastic chairs!!!!! I daren't sit on them - many's a time on holiday I've had to fake a dizzy spell and excuse myself quickly cos I could feel the chair starting to buckle and tilt. I now insist that we go HB or AI where the hotel restaurant has proper wooden chairs!

Those plastic chairs are also uncomfortable when the arms of chair dig in to your thighs and you can't put your arms anywhere and have to fold them across your belly, which draws more attention to the one area you don't want it on....

I dont think I will ever forget bloody plastic chairs! Broke one on holiday and whole of my family laughed at me for ages! too long. They are usually quite a nice lot but I dont think they realised how mortified I was. I just laughed it off like fat people have learned to do.

Im not as big as I was then but if I am forced to sit on one
I really cant relax. Awful.

I can tell if I've gained weight whenever I visit my dads. Sometimes I can just about fit into his dining room chairs. Other weeks I have to perch on the front of it because my bum won't fit between the arm rests.

We live at the coast and so many of the cafes have the plastic seating - I try and steer the family to a table near a wall so I can perch on that!

I did the same thing a few years ago and think it will stay with me forever! People were really nice saying oh that one was cracked anyway and they meant to bin it even apologising to me but I know it was my weight that did it

Good observation Kevo. It's something I face, but have never really discussed:D

I hate fixed in seating - that includes those found on aeroplanes.
