The things I really hated pre-op were those cheap white plastic garden chairs. I broke one once at a BBQ and have never sat on one since. I can feel the shame burning my face even now.
Do you think we ever recover from those kind of memories?
I was at school leaning back on the chair (like I had done several times - as a child does) and I could feel the legs giving way. So before I ended up on the floor I got up off the chair and changed it. Most of the class didn't notice, but the teacher did afterwards and so did the whole staff room by the end of the day because the teachers made me KNOW they knew.
