I'm soooooo upset today. I haven't lost any weight from last 3 weeks. May be more. What am i doing wrong?

How much have you lost since your op?
Any idea how many calories you're having each day?

Could you write down roughly what u eat each day for an idea x

Have you have lost 51lbs since your op? That is not bad going for 10 weeks post op - and especially if you lost that in the first 7 weeks - perhaps you need to increase your physical activity to boost things for you ? As Angee says perhaps you should share with us what a typical day's intake is - and perhaps there will be some post opers further down the line that will have some good suggestions for you. I'm just a few days difference from you and we seem to be on very similar weight loss - which I thought was good xx

I can't eat much and the problem is i cant drink much too.

B 1 sandwich thin with cheese and salami
L chickpeas 1 spn, chilli 1 spn and cabbage 1 spn
Snack 1 banana, cashew nuts,
D will have the same as L.

No i have only lost like 10kg since my op in may be 2 and half weeks and then nothing since then. Its been 6 weeks since my op.

That works out as about 1,124 cals a day and just 37g of protien - my suggestion would be to perhaps swap you breakfast which is nearly 300 cals for something rich and high in protien - perhaps some fage yoghurt with oats and chopped nuts, scrambled egg or a protien shake, depends what you like? I am having 800 cal's a day and doing 30 mins activity a day and loosing 1kg a week (much to my disappointment!)- so perhaps your balance of intake and output needs to be looked at to? x

Thanks for the suggestion sweetheart. I am not counting cals and don't really know how to calculate the amount of protein in foods.

If you have a smart phone, there are some really helpful app's or perhaps you could just do it on line? Good luck and I hope you become a looser again really soon xx

Try Myfitnesspal:) it takes all the work out of calorie counting & you will wonder how you managed without it ... it works your protein out too. Good luck, honey xxx :)

10kg is 22lbs, in 2 and a half weeks, that's about 9 pounds or so a week!!! that's terrific!! Probably your body is just saying "whoa, hold on, what's happened?" as it adjusts, then it will let go of more weight again. I also went on quite an early stall after my op (sleeve) for about 2 weeks, then it started again. I'm used to stalls now; they happen, you wait them out, and you start losing again.

You did say you aren't drinking much; why is that? I found drinking plenty of fluids helped speed up my weight loss and dehydration stopped it dead in its tracks. So try and drink more.

We all seem to get stalls at different times, and it's probably as Ruthie says, just your body catching up.

Try drinking more sugar free fluids, and maybe snack on protein like babybells, or as already suggested some Fage yoghurts or protein drinks etc to up your proteins a bit during the day. If I was low in proteins and/or fluids my weight loss was not so good.

If you use Myfitnesspal you can log your calories and your protein levels - you should ultimately be aiming for at least 70g of protein a day and 1000 to 1200 calories (at least that is what I have been told). You are still quite newly post op though so probably won't get to these figures just yet.

We are told 800-1000 in the initial weight loss phase.

I think protein and drinking more is defo sound advice Farzu. Are you active? X

I just finished the TOM. Can that cause the stalls? I'm active but in this weather i dont feel like going out and walk. I will join a gym soon. Last 2 days i felt like i was jn fever. Need to up my water intake but i feel stuck when drinking. Eating is fine. Also i need to drink 1/2 sips when eating too. Otherwise i feel sick.

I always found me personally I never lost when it was time of month,I've had quite a few stalls in the 16 months since bypass.
Best thing honestly is to increase water x

Farzu - I have stalled too but saw the
Homerton Surgeon last week & he said what happens is that the body starts to preserve the muscle after rapid weight loss & then the weight loss stops for a while. He assured me it would start up again. I had also started my water workouts 3 times a week & the Homerton PACE exercise classes. Today I saw that I had lost 2lbs so hope I've re-started. Trust the surgeons they know what they are doing. Chin up & good luck.
