The Raw Truth from the start

I will write up my full diary tomorrow when I can have my laptop on me.
Thank you everyone for your replies.
Lola I'm drinking lots of peppermint cordial so hopefuly that will help.
Xxxxxx

I hated the peppermint cordial but it definitely did the trick. Although I only used it for the week I still haven't stopped burping!! :-o I have just eaten my tea and the burps are like nothing I have ever heard before! Uh oh. Hope I can keep them in when I am in hotels! Glad it all went well for you.

Walk around your lounge swinging your arms around like a crazy woman, sitting only aggravates it x

here it is my full hospital diary.
my driver picked me up at 9 his name was Reece and we talked all the way for 2hrs it went really quick.
when i got to Dolan park i had blood test and an ECG which was good ,i was then shown to my room no 13 (unlucky for some)the nurses came to see me with some paperwork to go over the i had to have a quick shower and put the socks and gown on (make sure you take a dressing gown or your have a draft). Then comes the waiting if you have any other medical problems like high blood pressure or diabetes you go down in the morning if you have no other problems you go down in the afternoon,so i had to wait.
during this time i had my surgeon and anaesthetis came to see me.Had my blood pressure taken regulary. The rooms are basic but very clean with your own bathroom ,mine looked out onto the car park and fields but was very quiet no bleating sheep or loud air conditioning unit going all night. They took me down at 5.30 and the nurse i saw in the theatre was very funnyand put me at ease.i then went throught into theatre where everyone was smiling and happy and then i went to sleep very easy. When i woke up i was very groggy but glad to be awake.Back in my room i was left to come round which didnt take to long.nurses visited me throught the night several time to take my blood pressure and heart rate.In the morning i got up and felt ok very windy so moved around to get some of it up.
they then brought me a smoothie and yogurt but cound`nt eat much.At 7 they told me my driver was here and if i wanted to i could go home as my surgeon had discharged me so i got dressed and came home my driver was kevin and he was very nice as well ,i was home at 11 everyone was pleased to see me i was very tired so went to bed slept like a log for 3 hrs.spent the rest of the day trying to dispel wind didnt eat anything didnt feel hungry.went to bed early.i put lots of pillows up against the wall and slept upright which helped a lot slept throught till about 1 then got up walked around a bit then got back into bed and slept till 6.30 said goodbye to the kids of to school then went back to sleep till 10.Then i got up, been taking their paracetamol that they send you home with and been ok so far.still burping and farting so that should be good.so that its now on the road to recovery and on the loosers bench.

Hi Mimi,

That is so great to hear it all went so straight forward for you. Was that 7am you got to go home? If so wow that was quick!
Can I ask a cheeky question, did they let you wear your own pants? Its just I have heard other users say you need 100% cotton pants or you have to wear their paper ones or none at all  I am off to buy some new cotton pants tomorrow but do they check they are 100% cotton?
Also they brought you yogurt? I though you could only have clear liquids for the first two weeks. If you can have yogurt too that would be great.
Its wonderful you are home now and everything so far is going by the book. How does it feel to be on the banders bench ;)
I have 3 days to go until mine so reading your threads has been a huge help knowing someone is going throught the same things as me so close to my date too!
Will be reading avidly over the next few days on how you are doing. Congratulations again :D

Yes it was 7 in the morning and as to for the nickers I wouldn't bother getting any I wore theirs when they do the op they use a heat gun type of thing to open u and if u don't have 100%cotton including the elastic there could b friction so wear theirs.good luck your be fine .

Thanks Mimi :) Good to know!

OMG when will this wind pain go.

A couple of days of bad pain from it mimi then a couple days milder wind pain if you are like me. It does get easier. Every day gets much better. Try the paracetamol and codeine effervescent if the paracetamol isn't easing the pain enough. Just make sure all the fizz is gone. Glad to hear you are well. I also used a hot water bottle on my shoulder.

Bella, our info is anything you could drink up a straw for two weeks. But don't drink with a straw :) blended soup. Yoghurt. Milkshake. My advisor said custard too. I went right off soup and felt like everything was sweet flavoured. I didn't have any fill at all in my band and I managed the yoghurt and smoothie fine. It was delicious after two weeks of the liquid diet x

:( Poor Mimi, just keep telling yourself every minute is a minute closer to it easing up and going. Hope it eases up for you soon :)

Thanks Lola, that is good to know. I will try and find some runny yogurt with no bits for emergency if I get sick of soups and shakes :)

LOL @Snack is that an offical nicker checker? I am defo getting 100% cotton :)

Just managed to have a couple of hrs sleep and now I'm drinking a slimfast very slowly .

You're welcome bella, the one they gave us in the hospital was a muller light healthy balance little pot, smaller than the usual miller lights. Well that's what I got anyway. Was delicious!! Ha ha. Asda do some 100% cotton knickers, you have to root through lots of packs to find them!! Mine were granny like full briefs. But when I got to the hospital I wore the paper ones anyway. Mimi I think I would feel different if I had any restriction but I have no fill whatsoever so all food is going down very easily, feels like I've had nothing done!! Sheer willpower at eating small portions. Although I've hardly felt hungry at all I've not felt full either x
