I am from the states. And it is a bit hard to understand some of the other peoples posts because of the words that are used are a bit different. But everyone on here is so warm and welcoming! So don't be scared lol. I actually just had my surgery 3 days ago! So if you need someone to talk to I will be more than happy to be that person :). Good luck with your surgery and I hope that you will feel at home here!

How long were you in horrible pain? Was it easy to start going for walks?

Hi Julia

Welcome to the site I go in for a gastric bypass on Monday 22nd August so I know how you are feeling.
Happy to swap stories.

BigDave

Good luck tomorrow. When your feeling better get back on here and keep us posted!

I know you speak english! But I didn't know stones.... And the food ideas are a lil different. We don't have a lot of the things you guys have.

Well ya your in pain but you have to think of it like this.. The faster you get up and walk around the faster all of the air and gas is going to start moving around and the less pain you will be in. Otherwise your just going to lay there with all that air and it's going to hurt even worse. Deffinately start walking the first day after surgery. Plus u have really good pain meds. So it won't be that bad.

Oops I sent it early. Good luck! And just remember to walk! :) let us know how it goes!

Hi Juliagulia,

As you have just read, the quicker you move around the better!!!! As soon as I was allowed to get out of bed I was up and away, even with an IV attached. :D Next day I was allowed to go off the ward and walk around outside and the fresh air was lovley. I know there will be pain for you afterwards but it will soon go. I was pain free from the surgery after about the 3rd day but the wind was chronic :'( and there isnt anthing you can take that will releive it except moving around. Good luck and speedy recovery. Look forward to seeing all the pre-oppers on the loosers bench. :D xx
