Waiting time for tier 3

Hi Billie.x. Just wondering where you are and what kind of questions are on the questionnaire? I'm in Cheshire and when I went to the doctors he said he would write a letter to the hospital..... Which he did ..... and then I got a call from the doctors to say they needed a questionnaire filling in by the doctor so I had to go back in. The doctor said she would send it off for me and then just over a week later I got an appointment through for in 3 weeks time. I wonder if that is a similar questionnaire?? I find it strange that none of us really know where we are! My appointment says it is for my referral to The Specialist Weight Management Clinic. Does that mean I am on the three tier ???

I had a email from the company who run the tier 3 program
I'm in Essex and its called more life weight management
In the email it had a link where I filled out the questions online.
They asked what diets I have tried, what dates and how much I've lost.
If I suffer with any illness's etc.
Personal Information regarding mental health, and some general questions regarding eating patterns.
I called the lady to say I had done it and asked the process.
She said its a quick process to get started.
I asked about time scales, She said it starts with a intensive 14 week program where you attend every week, then 2 weekly, She sad it could take up to a year.

I'm kinda hoping I can get it done in 6 months thou,
I'm a bit annoyed that I went to GP in FEB and he dithered about so much not finding out correct information which could have made me start it back then, I could have been 7 months in by now grrr.

Oh well at least we are getting somewhere now.

I would recommend asking the doctor what company runs and provides the tier 3 service in your area so you can contact them your self and ask them about their process and time scale !

I got a call yesterday and the lady from more life wants to speak to me and do a telephone assessment so going to call her back this morning to do it and hopefully get a appointment soon :)! X

My CCG has agreed to send me to Luton and Dunstable for tier 3 services and my gp has sent the referral x Now playing the waiting game x Good Luck everyone x

Update !!!!!
So this morning I had my telephone assessment from the lady from tier 3.
Was about 15 mins with questions and that.
She called me back 10 mins later and said they would love to offer me a place on the program starting MONDAY!!!!!
Well pleased.
It's 14 weeks each week to start
Then every 2 weeks for a month.
So maybe be able to go forward to surgery in 6 months !!!

Apperently my GP hasnt sent the referral as its not straightforward to which the L and D say is rubbish so sent GP everything he needs to send them would be quicker to refer myself lol x Even the L @ D lady said this is bad as he holding up the whole process and stopping people getting the help they need sooooo frustrating x

BTW good luck for Monday I am very jealous but in a good way x

I started the tier 3 yesterday it was good.
Just want the next 6 months to fly by.
I've started a diary in the pre op diary section I will be writing in xx
 
Well got referral sorted my tier 3 at L and D is The 10th of October xxxx cant wait xxxx
 
Hi jooz ..... Good news about your appointment. I have an appointment with The Weight Management Team on Friday morning. The letter says my life style and eating habits will be discussed in detail and the appointment will last an hour. I was a bit worried that it was just a talk with someone about diets and such but when I looked it up on the internet it said that it was the team to help patients lose and keep weight off before surgery. I think it is the first time I have looked forward to an appointment at the Doctors!!
 
Well for me this journey is exciting as its such a long time coming x ijust want to get started x good luck for Friday x
