Just rang Tracey Lowe, My funding application was sent off to the PCT on 10th Feb. Thats the same day as I spoke to Dr Hartland so he obviously was true to his word and followed it up for me.

Tracey said that BEN are usually pretty quick, but told me to bear in mind that they are getting to end of financial year so will have an increased work load. I'll give it till end of week and then chase the PCT if Ive not had anything. Tracey said that I should receive a letter from PCT on the same day as she receives hers. THen she will schedule my pre op appointments.

YAY - things are finally moving!

Hey Sam - Tracy told told me I'd get notification from the PCT too - haven't!!! I did phone a week after I knew the funding application had gone off and it was confirmed I had it. I got a letter from the hospital a few days later too. But definitely nothing from the PCT! Not that I give a fig, I know I'm on the list, and now it's just the waiting!!!

Thanks for that Lorna and Terri. At least I know not to accost the postman now lol. So do you reckon I should ring Tracey at the end of the week instead to see if she's heard, or should I get a letter from the hospital pretty soon?

Personally yes, I'd call on Friday. A no-hassle call, just a simple wondered if you'd heard yet. That's how I went about it and Tracy was really helpful. It helped that I have an unusual surname so it gets remembered (unfortunate sometimes!), so she already knew I was on the list although I asked her to double-check just so I could confirm to my friends the next day at the local support group!!

THanks Lorna,Have you been given any pre op dates yet?

Cheers Terri. Angela has given me a name and number at the PCT so I will prob give them a try as well towards the end of the week to see how its going.

Look at your ticker Terri... only 10 days till that first pre op!

THanks Lorna,Have you been given any pre op dates yet?

Not yet Sam. Dr Hartland's secretary said that they are going to be sending them out as soon as they have the anaesthetist dates - they have organised something like 20 extra clinics and I think it's telling on the staffing side, as you can bet they haven't employed more staff...

Another example of differing process! It was Tracey who sent my funding app to the wrong PCT. She did email the correct PCT after I'd rung to check progress (good job I did!) and the PCT emailed her back two days later. I then goit my MBE from WM, nothing from the PCT.
