natalie, I think your pre op appts are the same as Red's. I wonder if you will be in together xx

Morning all :) Just wanted to say about the pre-op diets. I was given an 800cal one to do which sounds similar to the WM food one, and couldn't get on with it. So much measuring lol. So after 3 days I moved over to the milk diet and I found it much better for me. I had cravendale milk which I think helped as it tastes nicer and doesn't have that milky smell. I found the main problem I had was the headache (anyone who's done CD/LL/LT will know that one) which eventually went. Anyway, basically what I'm saying is that it's different strokes for different folks, and don't let other people's experiences put you off trying something. I know a few people who've changed half way through and been fine :)

Morning all x

Natalie you look very colourful with those tickers...I am scared to put one on mine as I am scared it might jinx me again lol.

lol dont be silly u will be fine i bet u looking 4ward to all that calcium aren't u lavely. i think i will do the other one as dairy triggers off my gallstones i woke up in a good mood this morning dont know why perhaps coz the sun is out . :p

The pre op diet does not have to be followed religiously, If your on the milk diet and feeling hungry you can have a nibble on some salad or fruit.. You just have to shrink the liver this is more so important for key hole patients as the stomach sits behind the liver and Obese people have very fatty livers.. This can make access to the stomach difficult...

Also with option 2 it's very very low fat so again you can nibble on fruit and salad stuff, Cucumber and raw carrots stuff like that...

If you stick to them religiously your likely to feel really crappy!

I stuck to mine religiously lol and didn't feel crappy once the headaches had gone! I really disagree with going off the plan at all as for this to work long term you have to get your head in the right place and if you start off cheating how are you going to maintain the complete change to your eating that bypass requires? It's only 2 weeks, and we are all strong enough to endure pretty much anything for just 2 weeks, so in my mind there is no justification in cheating.

I dont want to cheat so i think that i will go...milk lol

xx

I will hold my hands up I cheated I had a lovely xmas dinner. I did the food option pre op diet and it was fine. Still had my op I think if you can stick to it for 2 weeks you are a very stong person. But I bet Im not the only one that cheated lol
