This evening I am 5 weeks post op and this was the third time we have gone out to dinner since my op.
This time we went to Kanteen, a kosher dairy restaurant in Brent Cross. Hubby was
fasting today..one of the minor fasts in our calendar; I wasn't yet allowed to fast. So after a
fast he doesn't like to eat meat, it's too heavy. So he had:
Two large crispy eggrolls with sweet chilli sauce
And Kanteen omelette; comes with bread, soft cheese, and salad.
Fresh peppermint tea.
(He'd first noshed his way through my fridge at home, including sushi, crisps,
and biscuits from his sugar free stash.) So he had indigestion after all that
lot.
I had:
Butternut squash soup. The bread that came with it Hubby took. The soup was a huge
portion, I only finished about a quarter..the waitress looked at me and asked if
I didn't like the soup. I smiled sweetly, said it was delicious but that I had a
very small appetite.
Two soft poached eggs..nothing with them at all. that was it.
At least he can't blame me for passing him my leftovers like he did last week, and the week before!
I didn't have any pain so I count the meal as a success. And I was able to
order just what I wanted, ie soup with nothing, and eggs with nothing. Perfect.
