Hi Caren... im dreading this pre op diet.... im starting mine on monday.... i think im gonna do the Milk diet.. you think that will be ok? i love milk and NAS jelly... :) I have ordered that protein squash in a cherry flavour that michelle reccomended ob the bliss FB i have also ordered some plain Whey powder to add into things too... it is all so confusing.. i can wait for it all to be normal for me xxx

I'm starting mine on Monday too, I'm not sure if u can do the milk one, they only sent the low carb, low carb one. It might be worth having a word with Michael, or asking on the fb site, I wouldn't mind doing the milk one myself x

from me phone :D

As long as it has the desired effect of shrinking your liver, I don't see that it matters whpich diet you do :):) You are not diabetic so this is not a consideration. Ring Michael by all means, but I am sure you would do very well on the milk diet, lovely xxx :):)

Yeah I think it might be easier, I'm worried about eating too much, or the wrong thing x

Well the tuna will save (tinned ) for when you need it in about 8 weeks time ... it is full of protein :):) looks like being a very hammy weekend, lol xxx :D

The milk diet I am on is 2 litres of semi skimmed milk, 1 litre of other fluids like water, NAS squash or coke ext, one NAS jelly and one oxo or bivril drink, you can add NAS crusha milkshake syrup to milk

Could somebody post the milk diet please ?

Here you are, Paula :) x

Two week milk and yoghurt diet
No other food or fluid (except those stated below) are allowed during
this diet. Each day you should have:
• 3 pints skimmed or semi skimmed milk
• 2 low fat and low sugar yogurts up to 200g per yogurt
(the yoghurt will be labelled as ‘light’ or ‘diet’)
• one chewable multivitamin and mineral tablet
Drink as much as you like of the following:
• water, tea (no sugar, milk within allowance), coffee (no sugar,
milk within allowance), diet fizzy drinks, low calorie/no added sugar/
reduced sugar squash.

My hospital had 5 pre op diet options. The nearest to the milk diet was 8-10 125g 60 cal yoghurts and 1 pint of milk. So for my 4th week (after trying meal replacement and low carb. We were allowed to switch once a week) I did the more classic milk diet instead and my liver was great. Like Twinkly Den said, it doesn't matter which you do, as long as it shrinks your liver :)

Good luck everyone :D So excited for you Caren!!! Xxx

All the best you have been so supportive to everyone and patient waiting for your op I hope everything goes really well for you. I think everyone worries about eating the right thing on the pre op diet,i was worried because they had to change mine a bit because of my potassium levels were low so I had to drink as much fresh orange as I could and tomato juice for the last 5 days but it did the trick.

I'm half way through my 1st week and have been told that I can only have clear broth, bovril type drinks and NAS jelly. I'm still working full time and felt quite faint and dizzy at times. So after reading all your info I have been taking multi vits to supplement diet and put two scoops protein powder into jelly. I then treat myself once a day to a very large milky skinny coffee. I live for this drink. My concern was that my body wasnt getting enough nutrients pre op and thus effecting post op recovery. Next week it wil all be over....I hope.

hey everyone, im going shopping today and dont know what protien to buy. I start my pre op diet next week and have been advised to supplement my protien, but what one? lol xxx
