Liz you are a strong person and you will be fine i no when i was second guessing my self it was you and sara telling me a bypass was the right thing and this is the right thing for you now, if they told you you had to have another band you would hate it ,it is scary when the time is coming but once its over and things settle down you will wonder what you where worred about ,the thing i would change is that i had done it years ago i love my bypass,
If you want to have a girly night out befor your op give us a shout im sure some of us could get together for a knees up
xxx

Hiya Lisa, i know this is the next right step for me, it was just a moment of doubt which im sure everyone has as some point before there op.

I get the camera down next tuesday, so im hoping that it wont be too long after that when i get a date, once i have a date and a point to focus on we shall arrange a night out that would be great thanks x

Hi Liz

Sorry you've been having second thoughts. We all know you've been through loads of sh*t with your bands but persevered and still had remarkable weight losses. It must be so frustrating because I'm sure you thought you were at the finishing line and onto maintenance stage.

You've proved time and time again that you have the inner strength and will power to make a bypass work, if anybody can do it you can.

I hope things go well next week xxx

Hi Liz,
You have helped me so much and when I have a band problem you are my first though (OMG what will I do lol) It is the right thing to do, you are making the right decision. You will look back on your negative thoughts afterwards and know that you have made the right decision.
Like others have said we all hate change, why mend what isnt broke well fact is it is broken and its time for change so use all you doubting energy for the good and plan your new bypass life xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hiya,

When I was trying to decide between a band and a bypass I met a patient at Spire Manchester who had had a band and lost 5 stone but then had problems and converted to a bypass. She said that the bypass was the best thing she could have done, although she'd been worried about the change she recommended that I go for the bypass as it was so much easier to manage and although she'd had success with the band she said bypass was much better for her.

I don't know if that helps at all I suppose different things suit different people better.

x

Hope you get lots of support from the bypassers just as you have supported loads of us banders Liz. All the best - Judy

thankyou Judy xxx

Liz you will be fine. You are such an inspirational lady that you will cope with what ever is thrown at you. Your experience as a bander has been absolutely invaluable to many of us banders and I know your experience with your bypass will be just as invaluable to others. Good luck sweetheart xxxx

You will be fine Liz, it is absolutely normal to feel apprehensive about a major operation beforehand - you have all the knowledge/experience from people on here which will help enormously and you know the sorts of difficulties that might occur. Bypass was the best thing I ever did for my health and my self esteem and I'm sure you will think the same 6 months down the line.
