Allergic to food and immune to diets: my gastric bypass story

Thanks everyone. I had a nice lie in and had my hair done.Decided not too dye it too much, only the roots, because my hairdresser said it was thinning at the sides and splitting a lot.I've bought some nail, skin and hair supplement to help and had my frindge cut a little to make it look thicker.
I'm looking for a job in journalism, so if anyone hears of any tiop jobs going then let me know!
The job search is not starting today though because I'm still tired. Got some more DVDs to watch after The X Factor tonight.
Plus I lost another pound- woo hoo!

Woohooo another pound bites the dust :D

Wel, I can't say that I feel quite as refreshed as I'd hoped after chilling all weekend. It went far too fast and I still want to sleep!
I'm definitely going to go to the gym this week, but it didn't happen today. Also more healthy eating is on the cards, I promise!
I've been toying with the idea of avoiding the scales for a while too because the weight is coming off so slowly. I'm hoping that it will motivate me a bit.

Hiya hun

Good to hear you had a nice weekend!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried to steer clear of the scales too, although it is hard!!!!!

Glad Gordon is home, give my love to him!!!! will email you

Hi Sarah you will be tired after all that you have been doing these past weeks, I was tired just reading about it lol....your body will catch up soon so dont push too hard...xx

Thanks both of you. It's true that my body just needs to chill for a bit. I didn't manage to go to the gym today, but made some healthy soup. It took me ages to file away loads of paperwork so now I'm just relaxing again. I'm pleased to say that I haven't been near the scales though. It helps that I'm getting complimented on my weight loss more and more now. The gym, however, is on the books for tomorrow. Finding a job will just have to be delayed a bit longer because I'm sure I'll be very sweaty and tired, again, after embarking on those cardio machines! Lol.

Hiya...

Just wanted to say I am really happy your man is home... hope the test results come through fast so that they can get on with making him better :)

Take care, baba

x

Thanks Ollie.
Gordon has an appointment with the doctor tomorrow so we're just praying that he has some test results to shed some light on the situation.
I have tried to eat more healthily today. Got some broccoli in cheese from M&S but it was disappointing. The broccoli was fine but far too saucy.
I had it when I came home from the gym. Did 20 minutes on the treadmill and swam a few laps before chiulling in the jaccuzzi. Not much of a workout I know but I'm trying to coax myself back into it. I might even go on the stepper or bike next time! Once I was there I felt good, so I'm definitely going again this week. I need to get rid of my flabby belly and arms so may need to do some weights soon too. Any tips on toning belly and arms?

Nowt wrong with a bit of sauce... ;) :p

:giggle:

How did the appt go at the Docs? I hope you got some answers...

And as for toning, when you do things like the crosstrainer etc, if you hold in your abs a bit, you will also help tone them... in fact, while doing all the machines, if you hold them in about 25%, it helps :)

We have an abs machine at my gym... you sit on it, and lean forward. Went on it today and it was fab!!! :D

Also, there are some really good exercises for the upper arms using weights (not sure what the name is for them) - you kind of hold the weight extended, then bring it down behind your head... sorry, can't explain it very well. Book a 1-2-1 sesh with one of the staff and they can work out a plan for you :)

Thanks Ollie. I haven't made it back to the gym yet as I've been busy buying stock for a Halloween firewalk today. I've never bought so much from B&Q!!
Gordon's appointment didn't shed any light on his mysterious condition. The results still aren't back and we saw a different doctor who was saying that it could be IBS, when the symptoms don't match. We're hoping to see his normal doctor when the results are actually out!
Diet wise I've not been doing too bad, although I've dicovered that I can drink fizzy drinks slowly now. I hope I don't get addicted again! Still keeping away from those scales, although it's getting really tempting!

Lol Sara I know what that's like, I told myself I wouldn't go back on the scales until Monday, but was on them today :)

It's a pain when you end up seeing the registrar or sho instead of the consultant, hope next time is better.

ah my dear winky long time no see hun, hows u and gordon doing?, glad ur not jumping on those scales all the time hun it only makes u feel worse wen u dont see the weight move, im nearly 9 stone down now so im chuffed lol, take care hun xxx

Hi Shel and Smiler!
Well done on the weight loss Smiler. It's been an eventful day today. I was working and mum's coming over in a bit as my sister's flying home from Australia and is arriving at the airport tomorrow. Got a call from Gordon who's had a car crash. He's not badly hurt, but has rib, muscle and back pain and is in shock. A car drove into his back so that made me panic a bit after all he's been going through.
Still trying to keep off those scales....

OMG poor Gordon! That man is seriously overdue some good luck!

Hope he's ok x

hey stranger - hows you?

Sounds like you're as busy as ever. Hope you are taking care of yourself (and Gordon). How have things been babe - you ok?

Caroline x
