hope this helps hun xx

Hi Sara :)

I would suggest looking at a GI diet, as they are high protein and designed to give you more energy for longer.

Hey, sorry you felt stranded out here on your thread. You said you are veggie but do you eat cheese? Low fat string cheese, a bit of salad and a low-fat fruit smoothie might work for lunch, fast and easy. Also, perhaps a nice creamy bean soup in a flask would be nice? Since you are so on the go, maybe some ready to drink protein drinks, low fat low sugar kept on hand would help when you have to dash. I know I have seen some people post about healthy kiddie meals that sound tasty, I think Shel mentioned she uses the M&S line.

Hope that helps. Sorry for the late reply:)

Yipee I'm not talking to myself anymore!!Thanks for your replies.
Carole, sorry to hear about the accident. I'll have a sneaky peek at your thread to catch up with what you've been up to. By the way, you've lost so much to date, brilliant.
Thanks Tammy, the wrap contents sound yummy but I dump big time on wraps, so maybe a cracker would be the best bet.
Shel, ohh thanks for the Gi diet tip. I've never looked at that one so I'll definitely have a look to see if it gives me any inspiration.
Any more ideas, please keep me posted. Cheers.

Hi Phatgirl,
Great ideas, thanks. I do eat cheese, but I don't like cold, hard cheese. I may try soft cheese though. I'll also check out the protein drinks.
I really appreciate the ideas because the more I try to think of tasty, healthy food, the more blank my mind gets. I just live on the same old stuff at the moment, so I'm open to all ideas.

What about grain, like a couscous salad (gorgeous with lots of roasted veggies in), or ebly/orza (tiny pasta) etc. You could add something like chickpeas or lentils for protein sometimes, so long as the days you don't you have a protein shake or similar.

Hi hunny, sorry not been around much!!!!! you are not alone, you know you can always text or call me...... sending you a big hug!!!!!!!!XXXXXXXXXX can''t help much on food front as have to say i am struggling a tad too.....

Hi everyone,
Well I've been naughty and not been to the gym since the other day, but I have made a decision that I'm going to eat healthier from Monday. Gordon actually laughed at me yesterday when I said: "I've decided that I need to lose some weight and do something about it." It wasn't like major news as I've already had WLS and obviously want to lose weight, but I consciously decided that from next week I'm going to avaoid the rubbish that I've been snacking on. So today I bought a two compartment lunch box to take crispbread on one side for lunch and soft cheese or egg mayo and salad the other side. It will also be ideal when I can't come home for tea beween jobs so that I can split a rice salad into two portions.
I did my Christmas shopping today as I know that I will be busy working from now until Christmas and the shops will be even busier. So going to start writing cards and wrapping presents tonight. We even put the tree and decorations up this afternoon to set the scene. It feels so snug and festive now - lovely!
I am also going to take some photos of myself if I have time tomorrow so that you can all honestly tell me whether you can see a change in me since my photos in May, June and September. I want honest answers please! So I'll let you know when I put them in my photo gallery. So tonight I'm sipping wine and going to have a quarter portion of veg korma (all I can manage, takeaway portions seem sooo big to me these days) before I get to work on Chistmas cards etc.
By the way, does anyobody have any ideas for presents and stocking fillers for 11 year-old girls? We've already bought hair curlers, socks, leg warmers, pink fairy lights, hoodie, long strip socks, fake tattoo kit, loads of sweets and chocolates and a massive make up set and plan to get some Nintendo DS games, but then I'm a bit stuck. She says she's too old for Highschool Musical stuff and can't think of what she wants herself, but the shops are full of stuff for adults or kids under ten, which leaves a gap for the soon to be teenagers. Any suggestions would be appreciated..

Sara, just checked out the latest pics - you look truly amazing!! What a difference six months has made - you should feel immensely proud of yourself and what you have achieved cos as we know this is not easy and takes work and determination - just the same as any weight loss - way to go girl and a huge well done xxxxx

Aww thanks Ali. Sometimes I feel like I'm not getting anywhere very fast, but when I see the difference in the before and after photos I know that I'm shrinking slowly but surely. After all, It would normally take me over a year to lose what I have in the last six months on a diet, only to put it back on again, but this time I'm hoping that it will stay off once and for all.

I too looked at your pictures, you look fantastic. You should be very proud. Good going!:)

Ha Ha - I note the use of the word 'hoping' it will stay off - I am still at that stage too - doing well, seeing a difference but still totally unconfident that it will be for keeps! Glad to know it is not just me! You do look great though - keep going xx

Sara you look amazing! The difference is obvious, so well done you :)
