Anyone under Luton & Dunstable hopsital

If your having your pre op in the arrivals lounge its on 2nd floor of the Surgical block, just up from the obesity clinic

Have to be there at 07.30, am nor really nervous, just want it over and done with, was worried about giving myself the injection, but all went well.

Sundowners if your appointments are on different days thats stupid try ringing them so theyre on the same day , and if anyone has pre-op then meetings with Dietitian a few hours later try n do what I did , after coming out of Pre-op I went to Obesity clinic next door and explained id just finished Pre-op and is there anyway they could fit me in any earlier instead of waiting about , I barely had time to sit down and I was seen , so I was done a good hour or so earlier than I should have been , most of the people in there are friendly and helpful ,

I know its exciting, my letter says 7.30 but the letter they sent my GP said 7.15, think i will get there for 7am just in case :)

Im sure I will do Xbander , obviously someones needs were greater than mine so im happy with that , and the staff were great , Im sure youl be fine , do you know where modular ward etc is , their weird a bit like porta-kabins but really nice inside and if your not a fast walker give yourself a couple of minutes to get there , I found not knowing what to expect the most nerving but having been there , theres absolutely nothing to worry about , you should get an early night as youv a great new journey starting tomorrow xxx

Did u find the pre op place easy to find? Good luck xbander. What time is it? X

It's in the surgical block right near obesity clinic, go up to the second floor and it's through the grey doors to your right. Very very easy. I went to have a look where surgery is at the modular theatre today too. Very strange abit like the white breast screening cabins you get. Never went in but very suprised they were theatres I'm hoping to upgrade to cobham clinic so I can have my hubby come visit me at anytime of the day. Xxx

I went and found the modular theatre today when i went and met claudia, funny looking place, hope its better than it looks.

Good thinking , yes it does look a bit odd n grotty from the outside , but its weird , once inside you forget it and as soon as you go thru the door theres a reception desk there and the lady Lordes is really nice , x

So do you actually have surgery in that building?? If so how do they get you to the ward? Do they wheel you outside I'm so confused lol xxx

Claudia, you go into that building and get ready , checks , hospital gown , stockings etc , and when theyre ready for you a nurse walks with you thru an ajoining bit to main hospital (not very far) to the waiting area outside the Operating theatres , there they just check alls ok , put a tag on your bag (which will go to whatever ward your going to) then you just wait until they come and get you , Dont be confused and theres nothing at all to worry about either , the staff really are great and put you at ease

That's strange, one day I am seeing the nurse or dietician and having pre-op, the next day I have a quarter hour app. with the surgeon and the other app. Is with either the nurse or dietician, can't remember what us what day, can't have a look as away in Motorhome at the moment. Why can't I have them all in one day, would make more sense considering it's a 4 hour return journey each day.

I feel a right Charlie - rang hospital today to see if they could fit all apps. in one day and guess what - I got my dates wrong. The appointments for the next day are for the 1st June and not 1st April (couldn't check as I said away in motorhome) and that's for POST op not pre-op. Doh!!!!!!! That makes my life a lot easier. phew!!!

Ha ha ha you plonker I did think it sounded strange that you were seeing the surgeon again before surgery lol.

Oh well you can enjoy your break now xxx
