Anyone under Luton & Dunstable hopsital

Oh thanks for letting me know. I keep reading the site for what we do after the operation so I can prepare by shopping but all providers tell u different things x

Hi Lulua, which surgeon do you have. Also I was told that because I use a Cpap I will be in the HDU (high dependency unit) following surgery, were you told that? Might see you on the 16th then.

The diatition will give you an eating plan sheet for each stage, each hospital do different things so best to wait till you get the L&D eating plan

Good morning all , just an update on how Op went yesterday , Well I got to LnD nice and early and headed for Modular ward as requested , booked in , seen by a charming nurse that checked me over (blood pressure , weight etc) and all was good . Given name tags , anti-dvt stockings and hospital gown and got changed , Nearly a 2 hour wait when the anesithetist called me and he went thru all the procedures he would be doing , alls good . Then another charming young lady took me down to waithing area for Operating theatres , more details checked and another hour n half wait , when the surgeon came to see me to tell me that now due to 2 emergencies there were now no beds available on the high dependency ward (due to me having bad lungs)and my operation would now not be able to take place , so near but so far !!! Disappointed but they really did try everything to try and make room for me . So not angry as '**** happens' , now awaiting a further date , on the plus side iv been doing liquid diet for 2 weeks and have lost a fair bit of weight anyway which was nice .Anyway really hope that all of you waiting for your Op dont go thru what I went thru and especially Claudia cos I see shes had a bad time and know shes really wanting op . If any of you are nervy about what to expect I can honestly say the staff there are brilliant , friendly , caring , and let you know whats going on all of the time ............so no need to panic ,.......good luck all and thanks for thinking of me and my monkey xxx

OMG - like I said I won't believe mine is happening until I am on the operating table. Looks like you will be an April opper too. Glad to know the staff are very obliging too, does make you feel more at ease about it all.

To be honest Sundowner , I really couldnt praise them enough , from the minute you walk in the door you are really made to feel at ease and its very relaxed , all the nurses and theatre staff are very friendly , before going in I was nervous and dubious as to what to expect but there really is nothing to worry about ...................id say waiting in the dentist is more unsettling !!!!!

And you asked what to take in Bedford2015 , id highly recommend you take a dressing gown to cover your modesty as they give you a Hospital gown that undoes at the back , and you have to walk from the waiting area to the operating areas , also something to read whilst waiting to be taken to surgery as even tho you may have been given a specific time for Op , they tend to swap n change operations about and you might have a wait (or might not) , good luck with your pre-op im sure youl sail thru that !!!

That's strange, one day I am seeing the nurse or dietician and having pre-op, the next day I have a quarter hour app. with the surgeon and the other app. Is with either the nurse or dietician, can't remember what us what day, can't have a look as away in Motorhome at the moment. Why can't I have them all in one day, would make more sense considering it's a 4 hour return journey each day.

Pre ops all done, saw yours got cancelled fatbloke what a shame :-(. Good luck to Xbander for tomorrow I will have everything crossed xxx
