Banders Daily Diet and Exercise Log

First day back on solids and a bit of a disaster. Been stressed all day and restriction has been hell.

2 cups of black coffee with splenda sweeteners
large glass of nas squash
bit of water
stir fry, chicken, prawns and mushroom and other veg which did not go down and stay down (sorry tmi):(
Feeling very sore and have a terrible headache

Exercise:
l
cleaning my sisters house including lugging her very heavy upright vacuum cleaner up and down stairs
short walk

Sorry to hear your first day back on solids didnt go as planned. May I ask wot veggies u had??? Some veggies I cannot tolerate at all since my first fill ( cauli , brocoli etc, more so the stalks and not the heads) & take it easy with the exercise/cleaning etc if your not getting much food to stay down, you could become very lethargic/tired. All the best hun xxx
 
Julie it was one of those pkt stir fry veggies so it was bits of mushroom, bean sprout, peppers etc, all thinly chopped. Never had any problems with veg before. I am just going to have to be very careful as I have so much restriction now and I have not got used to what that means. Now I understand your intake a lot better. I think that the amounts you are used to is what I need to try.

Julie it was one of those pkt stir fry veggies so it was bits of mushroom, bean sprout, peppers etc, all thinly chopped. Never had any problems with veg before. Your welcome TB its been a real learning curve after every fill I have ever had, what I could eat before I may not be able to eat now. I did miss some things but you learn to compensate and u find other things u like. xx Keep me informed of how you go xx
 
played a bit fairer on me band today
B - dry granola 1/3 cup
S - Packet snack a jacks
D - 2 large soj's with small pot humous and 4 cherry toms and 3" of cucumber cut up
T - chicken kiev (which was orrible!!) tblspn peas and 4 small new pots.

I did have some choc and a bit of ice cream too, and yes feel bad for it so not going to disgrace myself by saying how much...... I'm due on!!!

cycled 7.2 miles and walked 2 miles.
 
Evening all. Today was better although I have not eaten much - but at least it stayed down:D

Actimel
2 cups of black coffee with splenda sweeteners
Bit of water
bit of steak - pounded to within an inch of its life to tenderise then cooked on a griddle with onions and garlic - served with baked beans with mustard - ok I know it's a weird combination but it was actually very tasty. I cut the steak up into tiny little bits and made sure I chewed well - it was very tender

I feel full - just need to drink more water as I am not getting enough and have had a headache as a result

Exercise - one mile on the bike

I have had a rubbish day eating wise, I'm feeling so tired and so stressed its untrue :cry:

Breakfast - slimfast, around 11am couldnt have had anything before the.

No lunch - was away from the office.

Tea - chilli and corriander king prawns from the M&S garage down the road (Rache knows it, I'm sure she got some bargain nice things from there! ha ha)

I am now drinking a rather large glass of wine, which I deserve! It was a very important day for my family and the family of someone we lost so young and tragically last year xxxx

Well stress has played it's part today and my evening meal ended up in the toilet. It appears I can no longer tolerate chicken. Every time I have had it since my fill it has ended up coming back up so I am not risking it again.

Today's intake:

Actimel
2 black coffees with splenda sweeteners
protein shake
chicken soup
chicken grilled with a salad - did not stay down

Exercise

2 miles on the bike

I feel wretched and the pain in my side is back so I am going to have soft food and liquids tomorrow. The band is clearly not liking solid food at the moment or I am still not getting it right in terms of small amounts and chewing.

It all stayed down but feeling a bit bloated.

No exercise today due to feeling pain in my side.

Glad you have managed something more substantial today TB.

Chilli with green beans sounds like a good idea! pre op I used to have my quorn chilli with a mountain of basmati rice so Im always on the look out for alternatives ;)

I hope the pain shifts soon x

Mazza, what do you class as a bad day? I am finding food a struggle and seem to be better with less solid stuff at the moment like the chilli and green beans I had last night. Wondering if I will actually get it right if I avoid solid things and eat slider foods. I know the problem with slider foods is that you can end up eating more.

My bad day was that I couldnt eat, I didnt force things just didnt feel like anything :confused:

If you feel better with less solid food for now while your retsriction settles down, at least you are managing to eat. Chilli could be classed as slider food but with the beans to bulk it out (which are quite fibrous and would slow down the emptying of the pouchy) makes the meal more filling no doubt - hence the feeling bloated?

I am going to try that combo over the weekend, my OH loves my quorn chilli :D xxx

Another rice replacement I've heard people use is cauliflower :confused:

Well today has been one of the band in control. Even liquids brought pain. It was purely down to being stressed. I have realised that when I feel like this there is no point in pushing it. I had my usual before work, Actimel, 1 cup of coffee with splenda sweeteners and a protein shake. I went to work and by the time I hit lunch time I knew it was going to be difficult. I had the other half of the curry soup and I felt it. Tonight and unusually for me I had some of those ryvita thins which are ok but I tend to try and avoid anything carb heavy, with a bit of chicken pate and a bit of salmon pate. I knew trying anything more solid was just not going to go down. I feel stuffed but I am missing being able to eat what I would call a meal which is something protein cooked from scratch with some veg. There is no doubt in my mind that after 3 fills I have restriction but I am now debating with myself whether it is too much. I will see how things go as I am due at the hospital on 29 July. It is just taking the joy out of things at the moment.

No exercise today as I still have this pain in my side which seems to have come back as a permanent fixture.

Sorry to be sounding negative - I am not actually - this is abut living with the band and finding the right regime for me - like dating - you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince or in my case - experiment even if it means the odd barfing incident to find the happy medium.

hake baked in the oven with chilli flakes, garlic, yellow, red and green peppers - very tasty
little water - not enough fluid today

Exercise - a lot of walking as made two trips into town

Felt much better today - much smaller amounts and no sick moments:D

Oh dear

I had exactly the same today as yesterday. The only difference was I tried the matzo crackers instead of the ryvita thins. 5 minutes later I was kissing the porcelain god. I had a cup of options chocolate in the afternoon and that stayed down. Tried to eat my evening meal same as I had yesterday. After a few small forkfuls back it came.

I have been stressed all day worrying about my interview tomorrow and spending all afternoon and the best part of an evening on a 5 minute presentation. My band and stress are not a good mix.

Exercise 1 mile bike ride.

Hiya Guys not been posting for last few days as been riddle wiv the flu and foods been all over the place.

Today all I have managed is about 200g of Mango Yogurt and a Co-Op Healthy Option Shepherds Pie and that is it. Had about 3 pints of fluids, Mainly hot blackcurrant drink for me sore through. Hope e1 is well - Luv 2 all xx
 
Morning everyone, so far I've managed 1 cup of coffee and I'm currently licking yoghurt off the back of a teaspoon. I was hoping to try sloppy porridge this morning but Madge says no. I'm going to buy some weetabix today and try that v sloppy for dinner.

Well after my good day at work I think it was all too much for my band and dinner did not stay down. It is getting so random I am wondering if I should get a small defill as I cannot take throwing up on a daily basis. On the plus side I did make a concerted effort to drink more water and had half a litre which is much better than my intake in recent months.

5 teaspoons porridge
2 spoons of humous and 2 spoons of cous cous mixed together, I managed about half of it, but it was scrumptious

Well it appears that I'd had a bug as yesterdays weetabix came straight out the other end, I've kept the porridge in today so feeling happier about that.

I weighed myself today (I did it just out of interest, it won't be logged as a proper loss) and I've lost 1/2 stone in 6 days, blimey! It'll be interesting to see if it says off.
