Happy days then. Full steam ahead. This time next you be wondering what worry was aboutHi folks im back
@MrsN @JOHNG79 Hope you are both well. My pre op diet is still going well, ive lost 18lb . I have my pre op at the Alex tomorrow (6/12/16) from 12-2pm so fingers crossed all goes well. I feel really calm considering i'll be having surgery on Friday, all that will change as the week goes on i'm sure lol. I just hope my liver has shrunk enough :-0. I will let you know how I get on tomorrow.
Thats great news. What meds they putting you on after surgery? Im already on acid reflux ones so wondering what else i will need bar vitamins@JOHNG79 All is well over here in Manchester, hope you are ok . I had my pre op yesterday and everything was fine, I was a bit worried about having the ECG in case it showed something wrong with the old ticker thus delaying the surgery but all was good. The bariatric nurses at the Alex are lovely, really pleasant, they explained everything thoroughly and gave me a list of meds that i'll need to get off my doctor. I also saw the bariatric physio , she too is really friendly, she went thru a few exercises wih me that will help with recovery/blood circulation and the dreaded trapped wind. After seeing the physio I then saw Louise, the dietitian, she went all through the post op diet with me. I feel that the Alex has a great bariatric team, I was told that even the anaesthatist specialises in bariatric surgery which put me at ease . I'm all set now for Friday, I have my new 'big lads' PJs, dressing gown, slippers, mini toiletries, new big, loose t shirt (to travel home in) and my tablet to pack tomorrow in readiness my mini break .
Still working away & eating like a gerbil lol. Found myself taking sum veg from my dinner to top up my lunch lol. how times are changing. It's nearly the weekend so I'm not too bad
How are you doing @JOHNG79
Im finding turkey bacon & egg great for my protein. Yeah not had any fizzy drinks since last mon, and tbh i feel great. By christmas day i will have been on diet 3wks 6 days. That will be my cheat day and then back diet from boxing day til surgery which works out another 30/31 days. Weighed myself after week 1, lost 16 3/4 pounds, which led me to change batteries in scales just to make sure it was right lol. They really do change beyond recognition I'd say my favourite foods now are mozzarella, edamame beans, protein bars and chocolate rice cakes and I've gone from probably 2 lts a day of pepsi max to 2-4 ltrs of plain water and I don't feel angry or deprived like I always did when I was on a diet. Last night my husband didn't want to cook and asked if I couldn't just have a few chips and he'd order a burger and I said no because apart from anything else the thought just made me feel a bit sick. Took me 2 minutes to chop up some cheese and tomato in a little bowl and I was happy as a clam Not feeling ruled by food is such a relief especially at this time of year.
Not too much longer for you now I think?
Oh i must get onto gp to see if i can get liquid form of my esomeprazole.@MrsN Thanks I am still very calm, I just hope i'm one of the first to go down to theatre, i'd like to be back in time for Pointless . is everything going well with you?
@JOHNG You have done brill losing that ammount in week one of pre op diet well done The meds I need are the acid reflux ones but the kind that disolve on the tongue, Lansoprozole? The other stuff I need from my Doc will be chewable calcium, a good quality multi vitamin (only need to start those in 2-3 weeks time) and B12 injections at some point. It's now 6:50pm, this time tomorrow i'll be all fixed with my new tiny stomach and then I start the journey to a 10st weight loss for the second time in my life. previously I have lost 10st, put it all back, i've lost count of how many 3-4st losses i've had and regained. 3yrs ago I lost 7st and put it all back along with 2st extra . im hoping this procedure will finally put an end to all that yo yoing.
As far as I am aware you cannot get a liquid Omeprazole but there is one that is dispersible, although it isn't clear on the packet. They are a reddish colour caplet.Oh i must get onto gp to see if i can get liquid form of my esomeprazole.
Onwards & downwards lad. This time tomorrow it will hopefully be all over you. Best of luck & keep us all informed
Good luck. See you on the other side Take a cushion as well for travelling home, it helps to steady the wound and make the journey more comfortable.@JOHNG79 All is well over here in Manchester, hope you are ok .
