Thanks for all the support everyone :):). @MrsN I was told i'll get 5 days worth of lansoprozole (melt in the mouth) and 7 days of blood thinning injections, All will be revealed on Saturday when i'm discharged. I hope i'm home in time for Strictly :D:D . I am still chilled about the whole thing, I am not nervous at all, probably cuz I know i'm in good hands with Mr Li and his team.

I was given 2 weeks worth of lansoprozole.

Hi folks
Sat here in my room at the Alex waiting to go down to theatre, I'm last of 3 on Mr Li's list for the sleeve procedure, was told about 30mins ago that it would be about 2hrs before I go into theatre. Everyone has been really lovely. Still no nerves or anxiety, not too sure about the theatre gown though, it makes me bum look fat :D:D:D:p:). Catch you all later:):)

Hi folks
I'm back in my room now, I eventually went down to theatre at 4:35pm, my procedure started about 5pm and took 50 mins. I feel really good all things considered. I have discomfort in my back but that will be the trapped wind
I am a bit tired too but other than that I'm feeling ticketyboo :):). Got to go for my first walk around my room in a couple hours. I'll keep you posted on mynprogress. Goodbye 48 waist jeans hello 34 waist :D:D

hi folks
Feeling really good, I have no pain only slight discomfort. @ JOHNG you are going to be in fantastic hands with Mr Li and the nurses at the Alex they are all amazing. I would love a cup of tea but I can only have water :-(.'ive managed about 150ml of water in 2hrs the last sip was quite big and it hurt as it went down....wont be doing that again.

Great news. Done & dusted. All the building yourself up to the op, & its now over you lol. You get out tomorrow arent you all being well?

@CYguy thsts fantastic!!! I went down to theatre at the same time! Mr Li will come and see you tomorrow afternoon and talk about how the op went etc. He's a lovely bloke.
Well done on the water intake so far - first few days are the hardest but it really does get easier!!
Here's to a happier healthier future!

Good morning all :). I managed to get 2-3hrs sleep but that wasn't due to pain, it was the damn noise from the sexy space age calf massagers :banghead:@JOHNG79 bring ear buds with you if you want a good kip :). I am all done and dusted :woohoo: still not in any pain and doing well regarding trapped wind, a little discomfort every 15mins or so that last 20-30 secs. I've been for a few 3-4 minute walks up and down my room. all my vital stats are ok so im hoping I'll be home in time for strictly :D. One thing I wasnt expecting was a very very dry mouth so I keep sipping the peppermint tea that i'm allowed now. I find it strange not to have hunger pangs considering that all I have ate since 5pm on Wednesday is 2 muller light yogurts.

@CYguy the dry mouth will probably be around for a few days!
Oh that machine - how annoying!!!!
Have they brought you a milkshake yet?? It was honestly like heaven in a bottle!!
The physiotherapist will come this morning and get you walking the stairs too.

@MrsN Yeah, dry throat and mouth not pleasant at all but I keep sipping fluids to ease it. I had a chocolate yazzoo milkshake for breakfast, I can honestly say it was heaven. Tasting something so sweet was a lovely shock to my system lol, its taken me 3hrs to drink the 300ml bottle, pre op that would have taken probably 3 seconds lol.

Physio therapist has been to see me we walked the full length of the corridor and up and down 4 flights of steps twice, I confessed to her that I had already done the 4 flights of steps 8 times at 7am by myself :). I don't need to see her again. I am waiting for Mr Li now to give me the OK to go home. I can honestly say at this point it's the best thing i've done, I just wish i'd had it done yrs ago before I got to 24st. This is a new chapter in my life, the thing im looking forward to most is being far more healthier with a great outlook on life and my confidence having a massive boost ....onwards and upwards.....oh and those 34'' waist jeans off the shelf from NEXT lol. We just need to get our friend @JOHNG79 through his surgery and then we can all carry on giving each other support and advice:):):)

Cheers for that . What time did you have to be at hospital yesterday morning?

Thats billiant news, hopefully feet up with a new tummy for strictly haha. Not be long til you are chachacha'ing your new svelte body lol. Im sure you wre in shock how quick whole day whizzed by

Mr Li came in to see me about 3.30ish so perhaps he'll arrive at a similar time.
I remember feeling the exact same about the milkshake but the broth drink they gave me was yuk!!!

Sounds like you're doing really well!!

I was admitted at 11:30am, walked down to theatre at around 4:35 then the anaesthetist came for me at abot 4:55 he injected me with a lovely drug that made me feel like i'd had about 1/2 dozen gin n tonics and then he said he was giving me another drug and thats all I remember until I woke up in recovery gasping for a sip of water. I stayed in recovery for about 20mins singing along to ' I wish it could be christmas everyday' I blame the drugs lol:rotflmao:. Just waiting for Mr Li to arrive, he was meant to be here at 3pm but has been called out to a patient at another hospital and will be here anytime now ....I might just make it home in time for strictly :) I only live 10-15 mins down the road. I never thought I would feel full from 1/2 cup chicken broth or it take 3.5 hours to drink 300ml of milkshake. I dont feel any hunger at all. Trapped wind giving slight discomfort between my shoulder blades but other than that im fine. I have climbed the 4 flights of stairs at the end of my corridor 60 times today :)

@CYguy it's great to hear you sounding so well :)

Sounds good @CYguy!!
Have you been discharged?

Thank @FeeBee I do feel really good, I thought the pain/discomfort would be much worse but I have no pain at all when sitting or walking, I get slight discomfort when I hiccup or need to cough. last night before getting in to bed I got an awful trapped wind pain just below my ribs but a few mins of walking up and down the hallway eased that.

@MrsN I was discharged around 6:30pm last night so made it home in time for strictly :wee::woohoo: ive no idea how im going to fit in 2000ml of fluids, I only managed 3 of the 300ml yazoo milkshakes , 1/2 small glass of sugar free squash,6tbs of chick broth( I over did it with that and felt very full n sick :-( ) I then had about 4-5 tbs of options hot choc for supper. I get a really full feeling high up in my chest do you get that? I guess to get up to 2000mls down I need to be sipping my fluids constantly. Im off to sainsburys now which is only 200mts from home to see what exciting flavours of skimmed/semi skimmed milk they sell. ( cant carry anything heavy so i'll take OH with me) I like the yazoo, its sweet and comforting :):)

Mr Li was very pleased at how my surgery went, he said it was straight forward and there were no probs. I asked him how much of my stomach was removed and he said " with you I took about 80% then showed me with his hand about 1/2 size of a rugby ball ....my eyes nearly popped out of my head lol. I then asked how much stomach was left and he just stuck out his little finger......not surprised it took me about 15hrs to get around 1100mls of fluid down.

@CYguy - your fluid intake will increase as the days go on!
Yep when I get full (about 10 teaspoons at present) I can literally feel the food wanting to burst out of my stomach and sitting between my breast bone. I'm still trying to work out what's too much etc.

Great news . Cant believe how quickly it all flew in for you. Do you have any reviews in near future or is it in few months time?

I'm seeing Mr Li on Wednesday - it's being done a bit early due to Christmas as it will only be 4 weeks and 5 days post op.
