Yeah definitely maybe we will have our op on the same day. Emily is to phone me later this week with a date. Can't wait now for my op. Excited but scared at same time

Absolutely. It could drive u nuts thinking about it. I had thought about wls for quite a while but couldn't decide which op 2 go for. Band or bypass. In the end couldn't real afford bypass so opted for band. However reading all the posts on this site from other Banders is really encouraging. Which package or you going for?

Yes it defo is encouraging its great reading real peoples stories! Im going for silver..ive spent a bit too much on the run up to xmas so the gold is a bit out of reach atm!! What about urself?

It is v expensive..then the new clothes we will need to buy

I know its crap. My doc said there is a surgeon in the royal in belfast who was taking referrals to make a case for it but they couldnt get the funding for it and the aftercare bit of a joke really but thats life!x

Aw I think what corgi meant is that its offered on nhs if you are eligible on the mainland, in northern ireland its not offered at all even when a surgeon is willing to do it on the nhs

Could they not go see a surgeon in England I cannot understand why they cannot get it on nhs in Belfast seems wrong that's all

No I asked my gp the same thing and she said itd be private if we went across the water. I guess its to do with what Trust you are registered with

It's so annoying and very unfair it's meant to be all one nhs and we get Romanians coming over getting wls on the nhs but people who live in the uk and pay in to the nhs cannot get it cannot see how it's right
That is an interesting thought. I am from Hungary and have been living her for nearly twenty years.

It's not when you have lived here and paid into the nhs that concerns me it's just when people come from Europe and get the treatment straight away and when people who leave lived here for years cannot get it
I was in the clinic and saw them and heard them say been here two months and need it done quicker as wanting to go back home to Romania for Christmas and as they don't work can go in any time
