It's such a pain in the arse, this loosing weight!!! I haven't budged in weight loss in ages :(
Gggrrrrr!!!! I'm soooo greedy!!!! Just want to loose more and more :)
Could be the other way round :) and the suns finally shining!!!! Lets hope this is the start of the summer, a good one at that!!

Carol as long as you are honestly sticking to your healthy food and portion control you will lose.. Remember I was stuck for over three weeks at the start of my balloon insert. Do you see a dietician through your provider? .. They will keep you right.
How is your fluid intake? I am finding that it is essential I get the fluids in. Aiming for at least 2.5litres per day. For me this is the hard part as I'm finding it a chore but it is becoming very clear that I must keep it going in. If I lapse I will stall.

I am the same, struggle with the fluids but really feel thirsty when I don't drink enough.

Back to ballet this week again. Looking forward to it. That's all my exercise at the moment.

I don't drink that much! Been drinking about 1.5 leiters only some days. More on gym days!

Yea seen the dietician last week
I was sick for three weeks before I went away so eating drinking and exercise was all over the place!
But I have an interview on Thursday and I'm sooo looking forward to it! Weight loss is a must for this job too!!! I will have to keep it off also :)

Remember with fibro it is all about pacing yourself. Don't do so much in the gym if you then have to rest for 3 hours. When my fibro started I went on a course with the hospital. They really pushed the pacing yourself thing!!!

I wouldn't know what pacing was even if it hit me in the face!!!! I go he'll for leather and then pay for it for a week!!!! I'm an all or nothing gal!
It's a pain in the ass. But I have to try even things out!
Even with cleaning the house! I do it all in one day then can't move the next three days then I try take it slowly and it all gets ontop of me and I get so stressed that I get worse!
My head does be all over the place!!!

Exactly .. The pain management course I was put on really pushed the same "pacing" message too. Fifty percent of people there were also fibro sufferers. I'm not btw but the message was loud and clear for us all. Pace yourself & if you hurt or feel tired then stop & rest. ;)

I used to be like this but over the years I have learnt the art of pacing more from necessity than anything else. I'm also a great believer in tidying up behind you as you or your kids make a mess (grandchild in my case lol). It just makes things so much easier at the end of the day. If you need to spring clean then don't do it all in a oner but say a room or cupboard a day/week. This is where hubby comes in handy begrudgingly or not.. They too have a responsibility like it or lump it lol. If your hubby is anything like mine he is probably the worst offender :rolleyes: xx
 
Hello peeps. How is everyone doing? Three months ballooned today. Weighed this morning. Two and a half stone gone. Interview on Tuesday and managed to shoe horn myself into my suit. Ballet last night was such fun again. I would recommend it!!!! How is everyone doing???

Congrats too on your weight loss and threemonthaversary.You have & are doing so well :D. Ballet to boot. I take it you did ballet before though. I can't imagine starting up that this late in my life lol I'm struggling as it is being able to cope with my 8mth old granddaughter who is all mischief and nonsense at the mo .... thank god someone had the notion to invent the baby walker!

I'm doing good as regards this healthy eating game its the get the liquids in lark that a pita but needs must. It's a good feeling to be able to say I have to lose another stone and three quarters to get to the 50BMI target set by my surgeon for the bypass but I'm really glad that I took the initiative to lose some of the weight before hand. Another 6lb loss will see me at a 6st loss in total. I feel quite smug at that :). Met someone that I hadn't seen since July and she visibly took a double take when I walked through the door. She has weight problems too but was full of compliments at my success and at how well I looked. I was bowled over :) .. I've had a good week all in all xx

Yup the hubby thinks its my place to clean, tidy cook n all that! He does the renovations painting what ever but I tidy as he goes!!!!
But how and ever!!!!

He only thinks that because you do it. Don't do it and he will get a reality check. I cook, I do not clean. I do the laundry sometimes but that's it.no cleaning or dishes floors or hovering. He can take it or leave it.
 
Lol I am similar rose. Happy to cook but he does laundry hoovering etc.

I do everything! Including cleaned out the shed and went the dump 6 times!!!!

Ah well :) I'm not working and he is. Although I'd give my left leg to go to work! It can be boring at home all day! Used to think I'd love it! :) been way too long!

You will be grand!!! You need to work with the balloon! I don't feel much resistance at all but I have mentally cut my portion sizes down. I refuse to get sick, can't handle getting sick! So I will not push my limit at all! That's why I don't feel it so much!
I had also lost 5 stone before getting the balloon! So my diet had changed a lot before getting it.
But everyone is different, in how much they need to loose and how well they do!
I'm back on track since being away on holidays and was sick for three weeks. Have lost 5lb this week!!!
Have u got much to loose?

Hi and welcome L13 :)

As long as your head is in the right place and you are willing to work with the balloon you will be fine. Expect to feel really off colour & sicky for the first week of insertion. It does get better. Be prepared and stock up with things like bottled water, NAS jelly, juice, thin soups to get you through this time. Concentrate on getting liquids in as you do not want to get dehydrated. Personally it took me awhile to get to grips with my balloon as I suffer from reflux/hiatal hernia and the balloon has aggravated them. But as long as I avoid "problem" foods & take my lansoprazole I am absolutely fine.
After that initial week it's down to you ... The balloon is a tool to aid us to lose that weight. Listen to your dietician and follow their advice to the letter & learn to read the signals your body gives you to let you know that you are full. Restriction is easily lost if you over eat and you dont want to stretch the stomach further or the game is up ;).....

Tips.. Always eat off a side plate, use small spoon & fork. Chew food well, drink at least 2.5litres a day. Do not eat & drink at the same time ... Wait at least half hour before and after meals before you drink. Concentrate on eating lean high in protein foods first, veggies next & if you are still hungry then the carbs. Don't be tempted to skip meals. Protein foods stay in our stomach longer and keep us fuller longer so you are looking at a high intake of fish, lean meats, milk, eggs etc this should be your main food component ;) Avoid high carbs, sugary foods & fatty foods
