February 2015 Surgeries

It took ages to shift, felt horrible, won't do that again in a hurry although I found out today that me and Apple peel aren't meant to be together, peeled apples from now on!

How are you doing?

ugh apple peel and me don't mix either lol hope it shifted quickly...........I also get the overwhelming feeling in clothes shops.... still go in and head to the 'big' section .........I stick to the charity shops now not so stressful :) x x x

Went to work today in a pair of trousers I couldn't do up 2 weeks ago, yay! And just done zumba for an hour, hard work but fun! Yesterday is so oh-ver

Spoke too soon, blocked again, are really slowly, was a good girl and it was something I ate the other night with no problem. Didn't quite make it to the loo and threw up in front of my daughters friend, I'm back on fluids for a day or two, feels like there's some inflammation going on :(

Siana I often find that something I eat one day with no trouble can disagree with me on another, it is all a bit trial and error and very odd. It's a bit like Russian food roulette :)
I also totally identify with the whole shopping ordeal. I have thankfully managed to resurrect a few smaller sizes from my loft but have found that my shape has completely changed since the last time I was this size (which was a very long time ago!) and I just don't know what suits me or what I should wear anymore. I know I don't want to wear the same style as my big clothes as they were all chosen to hide everything but I just don't have a clue what to buy or what looks right so end up getting overwhelmed and buying nothing :(
Need a Gok Wan makeover I think :)
I know it sucks but hope it makes you feel better that you're not losing your marbles, it's all a pretty normal part of this whole wls thing!

Up until this week had so few problems, maybe was starting to take things for granted so I'll slap my own wrist and today is another day.

On the clothes thing, I am driving my daughter bonkers by asking her " Can I wear this, do I look alright?" She shouted at me yesterday when I asked her if I was kidding myself and was I still a fat munter. I am a sensible woman normally, got a good job etc etc. This band has been tightened round my brain I think.... :)

So, so true. Haven't worn anything fitted for years, baggy stuff now just makes me look like sponge Bob square arse....but in truth I have a shaplier arse these days

Yes, if something got stuck and you PB'd ( it isn't vomit cos it never hit your stomach, a lot of us call it a PB or productive burp lol ). That would cause swelling. Take it easy for a couple of days and try and identify if you did anything that might have caused it. i.e. Eating too fast, not chewing enough, too big a fork full. Or was there anything with skin. I cannot eat peppers, beans peas etc because they all have skin and I think they can stick or irritate the opening where the food goes down. But we are all different and your body will tell you if you listen :). It may be you are too tight and that is not a good situation to be in.

Hope you feel better soon. Xx

Perhaps you could persuade your daughter to go shopping with you. Remember that you are still losing so a couple of basic items can go a long way with accessories. I found myself buying nice belts to use on jeans when they go a little loose. Liked a bit of bling at the time :D

Not had a fill yet as was losing without one, been ok today, managed salad for lunch with no problems but out for a curry tonight (gulp) Can manage spinach paneer and its delicious so should be ok. On the plus side lost about 4lbs this week, but if you knew my daughters (I have 2 ) you would know why I dot shop with them in tow ;)

It's official, 9 weeks since surgery, 3 stone lost in total (inc LSD), bloody chuffed!

Blummin chuffed for you :) well done.

Siana that is wonderful. You can book a personal shopper at some places big debenhams I think for when you get to goal. You are doing amazingly well. I am starting to go to practice nurse next week and back to daily dressings as getting some burning from liquid sitting on skin.

Lost 3 and a half pounds in last three weeks so really slowed but not panicking. As I lost three stone really quickly.

Happy weekend everyone.

How are you doing cherub, are you okay off your antibiotics xx

Hi Alison, sounds like wound care progressing? Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Taking my life in my hands and going shopping with eldest daughter, will see if I can pick up some cheapo "interim" clothes. I also never realised how losing weight would make your shoes feel loose.....

I have already halved BP meds, and may reduce again next week so all in all, after a difficult week, it's all been worth it ;)

Lol I got to say I knew bras would be required along with pants and other clothing but the shoe thing I though was in my head until I tried several, pairs I own on and found I was walking out of them. Well that's just another excuse I've come up with for some new ones lol :)

No excuse needed for new shoes!!

Oh I bought the handbags before I started this journey lol hubby still doesn't get it but then he doesn't have to. He has a problem understanding why you need a bag to match you clothes. I've told him he doesn't need to know why I just do. Kipling have become my best purchases, not cheap but so many colours and so light and I love the monkeys. I also love the Amazon man calling, hubby thinks I'm having an affair because the amazon man is more at my house than hubby ( belly laugh )

Hi All,
Long time since I posted anything. Have been monitoring the chit -chat and banter though. I was sleeved on 12 Feb and am 10 weeks out.

Firstly, my heart goes out to all of you who have had complications and are facing post op challenges. A gentle reminder... We all chose to get the surgery done so that we could lead better (thinner) lives, wear good clothes, feel healthy and energetic. So let's not phases faze us. Let's all become big losers .

Coming down to my progress so far. I started out at 109.7 Kgs (241.5 lbs) and am now down 19.7 kgs (43.4 lbs) to 90 kgs (198 lbs). Waist is down from 54 inches to 42 inches (a loss of 12 inches)

Needless to say that I am on cloud nine. A few of the little things that I am enjoying are :-

- being able to bend down and tie my shoe laces :D
- my thighs don't rub as much when i walk/ run :D (i used to wear a cycling shorts underneath to avoid rashes and still do)
- the ease with which my trousers fit and slip off
- the nipple rash/chaffing while running is less frequent ;)
- i can run more easily and am doing a lot of interval cardio and weight training
- the apparent flat tummy and the way the shirts fall (i like to tuck them in now)
- improvement in the lovemaking department too (TMI)

My weight too has been fluctuating over the last 10 odd years (like so many of us) so I have old clothes which i am enjoying wearing.

My surgeon is very good and I have monthly follow ups with him and am looking forward to standing on the scale on 12 Apr.
Trying to upload some pics.

Until next time... Be healthy, thing positive, fight the odds and become mighty losers....
Cheers

Nice to hear from you! Good on you for the running and exercise, I'm just getting back into it and its amazing how much easier it is with 3 stone down. Really starting to enjoy it but taking it easy to try and save my poor old knees.

I am very chuffed tonight, ordered some clothes online and they all need to go back as too big! BP meds halved too, and all this progress without my band being filled yet. Hope you are all well, esp cherub and Alison
