February 2015 Surgeries

Hi all you February people, well i went to chiropractor yesterday and my pelvis is tilted and twisted and my muscles are all in spasm, not surprising really, had a treatment and feels easier already, back next week. Wound being dressed every other day now, just waiting for the DN's to come. Sun is out again and feeling happy. Lost a pound first one in two weeks so happy about that.

Hope you are all getting on well post surgery and hope cherub that your clinic appointment goes ok and you can stop the antibiotics today. I am having a phone call from GP today after blood test so maybe some are out of range will have to wait and see.

Generally feeling stronger and building stamina up still waiting for appointment from occ health re return to work.

Have a good day xx

Glad to hear all is well! I have lost a few more pounds, it's a bit up and down but mostly down. I think I weigh too often! Nutritionist happy with what I am eating, even have an occasional treat (tiny malteser bunny). We are all on
n the up!

Hi everyone, glad to hear you are doing so well! I hope Alison, that you pain is easier after seeing the chiropractor! Good to hear that your wound is also healing well. Not be long before you'll be jetting off to Turkey!

Been to clinic yesterday. Advised to stop antibiotics as have been on the 7 weeks, CRP level lower but not resolved. The team are happy with my progress and weight loss at 2st 6lbs!
GP has started me on iron though as my hb is low and despite having 2 blood transfusions in hospital, has not returned to what it was before surgery. At least I know why I'm still so tired now!

Cherub I also started on iron yesterday as hb low and really tired. Hope we have got more get up and go soon xx

Great to hear you are feeling stronger, things going on the right direction. When you off to Turkey? We are off there for 3 weeks in May. :)

Well ladies feeling virtuous as have started exercising....I am so knackered but much less knee pain with some lard shifted!

Hey all, nice to read your messages.

Are you all on normal food now? How is it going? I seem to be eating everything without a problem - except asparagus. My weight loss stalled but should start again soon. I was clocking up too much calories but feeling the restriction for the last few days again, thank God!

Got rid of my size 2O jeans, good riddance. I think low carb diet really reduces my tum - although I was given a seat on tube again today!! So it is definitely there, but maybe more 3 months, rather than 6 months tummy he he

Normal food for me, but bread is the devil's food! Having higher carbs is definitely a vicious circle for me, makes me hungry! Not sure I have much (enough?) restriction but am feeling the benefit of not getting so hungry. Bought a spiralizer today to make "spaghetti" from veg to get some variety in my diet. Apparently the hour of zumba I did tonight =over 900 calls burnt off, reesult!

I am on soft food but can have normal from the 21 April. Can't wait xx

What's the problem with asparagus?

I'm not on normal diet yet and won't be for some time as advised by team. Managing half a side plate sized portion. Had jacket potato with prawn cocktail last night, went down well.
Starting to get fed up of the same foods though! And not able to have much in the way of salad or veg yet until next stage!

I'm still struggling, not got past the soft stage yet and I am at 7.5 weeks post op. Managed my first scrambled egg earlier. Tried a couple of weeks ago and just couldn't manage it. Managing about 600-700 calories a day. Getting the foamies once or twice a week. But on the plus side lost 2st post op!!!

I had what I think was foamies the other day, so gross, going to try hard to avoid that in the future, bleugh! How long on each food stage after RUN?

Only supposed to be on liquids 2 weeks, purée 2 weeks and soft 2 weeks, then introduce normal, but I'm struggling with normal. Managed a scrambled egg earlier. Just had an Atkins bar, never had one before, I now know I dump! Not having a good time!!

Tina I could have scrambled on my soft stage. I am finding it hard to eat so little and always try to have another forkful then spend the evening feeling rough ...

How are you finding getting enough protein in? Are you using protein shakes or any other supplemental protein?

Danio blueberry are lovely. Passionfruit quite nice too. 3 for £2 in Tesco. :)
