my weight loss journey

Well this is my story about my weight loss surgery.

Ever since i was 10, i have had weight issues, they stemmed from my mum and dad splitting up when i was 5, so as i got a bit older food was my only friend, so i would sneak it out or hide it that was how i went on with food untill now at 42 years old i have to take action about losing the weight,

ok yes ,i know what a lot of people think " just eat less, do more exercise", if it was just that simple noone would be over weight.

there is not a diet i havent tried, weight watches, slimming world, egg diet, soup diet, rosmary colney diet, all the diet pills out there i have tried.

my weight really started to go on when i met my first husband at the age of 19, he was an american and food and beer was a big thing in our lives. in a year i had gone from 13 stones to almost 17 stone. i was living in germany at the time ,i didnt speak the language so all i done while he was at work was eat and sleep.

after a year i came back to the uk and back to my mums to see if i could lose weight but after 10 weeks found out i was pregnant. in the next 7 months i gained 6 stone and from that day i have never been able to lose it. after my daughter was born i suffered with depression quite bad, so more weight went on.

then a year later i was pregnant with my first son. i didnt put much weight on with him. we travelled to different bases for a few years and my hubby and i were arguing a lot as he was an alcoholic, but because of the kids i tried to make it work.

we moved to america but after 11 months i'd had enough and left him and moved back to the uk. i had a bad breakdown and found things really hard for a while. then i met a man after 2 years, and i had a child with him. the weight went on again . we married, but after 8 months i told him to go as i realised i didnt love him and it wasnt fair on him .. however we stayed friends.

a few years pased and i was on my own my depreesion came and went.then i met daren my husband now. as they say third time lucky. i wish i had met him years ago. a couple of years ago i was told that i had bipolar and it was good to finally know what was really wrong with me.. now i was on the right medication i was able to see things right for the first time but the damage to my body was already done .

well due to my weight i have now got Type 2 Diabeties, and have a lot of nerve damage in my feet and hands,

i am always tired and can't run around with my young son or my granddaughter.

Having the surgery is not about looking good and fitting into that little black dress,

its for me to know i will hopefully be around for a few more years, I want to see my family grow up, and spend time with my grandchildren, i don't want to be ill anymore. I want to start to live . for the first time in 22 years i want to feel well.

well i had my first appointment at the L&D hospital on the 21st dec 2009. thats where my journey to bariatric surgery begins. my next appointment was the 15th feb 2010 where i was meant to start on the liquid diet to lose my 5% body weight, but as most of you know it went t*ts up as the next day i had a serious car crash and was not able to start the diet for 6 weeks.
on the 6 april i started the milk diet and had to lose 7 kilos, i had to go back to the hospital on the 4th may, when i got weighed i had actually lost 9 kilos. i now have to go back on the 20th may to meet the surgeon and then all being well i will get the a date for my op ...........[/QUOTE]
