Following advice of some forum members, after not having had even an acknowledgement email from PALS.

I asked if they can please send an acknowledgement to me to let me know they have my compliant. And if they are unable to deal with it, can they forward it to the chief executive ASAP.

I hope I get some form of response tomorrow

Fuffs, I'm so sorry you are going through all of this! They should make it right with you. They should give you a closer date. Hopefully all your proof will make them see the mistake and make it better. Big hugs to you sweetie.....

Thank you very much ladies Starting to think they just can't handle the amount of bariatric patients they have. If I hadn't seen and heard that someone behind me was in front of me, I would have accepted that they have pressures. But pressures still would mean there is a need to keep things fair.

On a lighter not, I am back to my pre Xmas weight this morning. So as long as I stay focused over the weekend, my weigh in at wm should be fine

I just forwarded my complaint to PALS at my own pct and asked if they are able to represent me, as I am feeling very low about all the rubbish. I hope it helps lol x

Well not heard anything from either PALS. Not even an auto response lol.

Maybe they get too many of my type of complaints and it will take a while to even get an acknowledgement.

Oh well, going to relax for the weekend now and see what next week brings.

i emailed PALS about the criteria for my PCT and it took 3 days for a response, i bet no one wants to acknowledge your complaint until they know which path to take with it xx

"I am writing to let you know that I have received your letter and will
be investigating your issues that you have raised in your e-mail.
I will contact you once the investigation has been completed."

I really hope they will look into it properly and not just try and fob me off. I wonder if my PCT contacted them, as it was after 6pm they emailed me.

What is your PCT's criteria Missy?

the email stated 50+BMI with or without co-morbidities.....

when the letter got to the GP denying my referral for weight management it was because i didnt meet their criteria of 45+ BMI

when i spoke to the lady at the weight management office she said it changes dependant upon race/background, ie of pakistani origin the criter is 42+ BMI....not sure why!

great news on getting a response. just remember, they will now be attempting to speak to your PCT,Hospital and surgeon to see where the delay lies, it might take a few days xx

I read the other day that some races BMI should be under 22 instead of 25, and they are obese over 37 or sometging similar. Must be physical make up of their bodies chick.

Have they given you any hope for a way in?


I am going to leave the lady to it to investigate as much as she has to. I have emailed my own pct to say I no longer need them to intervene. I am mindful that they are busy. Just happy to know they have it

Thanks Minx I am so happy just to know they have it and are looking into it. I am nevervous again now and thinking I wish I hadn't had to complain. But it's done and now I shall be patient to wait for the outcome.

Well things are going well Down another 2lbs today. Shows what I can do when I put my mind to it (and have a short notice weight management appointment lol). Usually I get at least a months warning. This time was about 2 weeks lol

Thank you very much!!! I will try to keep my momentum up I had a moment again yesterday of wishing I had never started. But I know in my heart on want this as much as ever. So I will keep fighting!! xxx
