Help!!!!

Well done Ceecie for coming on here and telling people its never easy and I personally find it easier to help others than it is to ask for help myself. Think we have spent years looking after others so when it comes to ourselves we do cut corners. I do take my vitamins and stuff everyday very rare I don't. Think that has made my journey easier. I am also 3 years without a period so my menopause is done suffered with that since mid 30's, and my hot flushes have gone away at the moment. I am now 48 and the only real physcological test I can remember is filling in a questionnaire then they take it from there what help is needed, My 1st post op app was at 9mnths and then discharged at 2yrs only 2 post op appointment I had. I do get the odd downward spiral, but sometimes its part of ladies lives as well. The head has o be in the right place for everything to come together. Take your meds and continue this journey you can and will succeed. I am never guna be twiggy and being almost 3 years post my weight has gone up a stone which I am trying to get back down without much luck. But hey I am trying, you are never alone there will always be someone feeling just as you are at that moment, you are strong and can overcome this. Thinking of you xx

Thanks everyone, you're a lovely bunch ....
It is true 2nd timer, I haven't been taking my supplements consistently and I am still to have full bloods done as the last lot I did came back as not adequate. I've just let it slip and now realise this could have been easily avoided.

But in true Ceecie style, I always try to cut corners and get by on the skin of my teeth. I really need to change this behaviour. I'm so inconsistent at looking after myself, yet would never be so foolish with my family or friends. This is something I will work on......

Much love X

You are not the first and certainly won't be the last to try and get by without your vitamin and minerals and the lack of support from your provider hasn't helped here at all because they should have been there to ensure that you had got that message well and truly clear. My dietician went ballistic when I was slow at commencing mine (a month late) and as you know I was rock bottom in everything before I reached 4 months post op  and felt utter rubbish. Hopefully those tests come through ASAP so that you can get sorted quick but it is my opinion that ALL bypassers should receive the b12 jab regardless of your levels anyway. Again your provider has let you down as they should be helping you understand why it's so important as to why we can not cut corners like we used to pre op & that eating regular and keeping hydrated is all part and parcel of the bypass procedures success.
((((Hugs)))))

Ceecie take your meds or you will get a smacked bottie!!!

Ceecie, what you're doing is the sort of thing I do with food. Its called playing with fire! It's testing to see hwether it will have an impact, its that childlike curiosity that consumes us all. And like children, when the pretty looking fire burns us, its too late then.

Start painting your nails, doing your hair, putting something pretty on, even if its just for hubby. Start giving yourself the best; after all, only if you're at your best, can you do the best for others.

Se we will be here to kick bum. Good on u gal, better late than never. Lack of provider support I blame xx

You ladies have said it all ... Yve has especially said what I wanted to - that we can't be there for others until we've been there for ourselves. You will be no good to anyone Ceecie if you keel over! So ... The forum has spoken ... Get on that phone to your provider and kick a*se! If you had paid that money for a new car and it had konked out on you, you'd be on to the garage without hesitation I am sure expecting a solution ... You've paid for a 'service' and they've let you down - get on to them and say you are dissatisfied and ask how can they put it right. It is your life!

xxxxxxxx

Me again! Sorry guys ... All the 'blame' and responsibility stuff aside, I've been thinking about where you are at on your journey Ceecie, and how I felt at that time about myself. I recall how uncomfortable I felt having so noticeably changed physically and how thrilled I was with my progress. But under it all was this very real anxiety about the overwhelming unknown and the future - where I would end up, how I would end up, WHO I would end up. The anxiety was hijacked by my new house refurb project just before Xmas when I was six months post bypass, and my mind was on other things. Two weeks ago last Friday I finally said goodbye to my builders and my days and mind are empty in comparison to how they have been these last six months (my 1st surgiversary was 9 July). I now weigh 10stone and take a size 10 (I was a 14 at Xmas). I have been too preoccupied with the house to really notice getting to that point from size 14. I now have time to think back ... I conclude that if it hadn't been for the distraction of the house then I may have coped differently these past six months (based on where I was in my head before Xmas). I don't mean to go on about me here - what I am trying to say Ceecie is that the inbetween (in my experience) is very hard - saying cheerio to the old us, and waiting for the new one to arrive, in the knowledge that who we think are will change on a daily basis as we head down to target. It must be especially challenging if you are a super-loser. Please don't beat yourself up about anything - cut yourself some slack remember we are all on this rocky old journey together. We will get to our destination but from time to time the train may shoot off down a branch of the line we had not thought we'd have to visit. It doesn't mean there is a dead-end ...

You are lovely and amazing. Just think how super-amazing you are going to be a year from now.

Hugs a billion xxxx

Well ladies....CEECIE seems to be back on track :)

I'm feeling much better, thank you all for the encouragement and advice. It's a good learning experience and I don't intend going back.

It's funny how the weightloss has maintained it's pace, yet I still felt like crap. It made me realise this journey is so much more than losing weight. I have to change so many aspects about my life and way of thinking, which I really had no understanding of when I signed on the dotted line for surgery.

Well, it was my 8th month surgiversary a few days ago, so here are my latest pics.

Wow look at you, you lovely lady x

You've done amazing Cecee, it must be hard with not having support as such, it's a massive change we're all going through, you're doing really well. xxx

Looking stunning ceecie keep up the amazing job your doing

Well done!! I'm so glad to hear you are back on track Ceecie and you are so right simply getting the bypass/sleeve/band isn't a magic wand that takes away all your weight and the woes away with it... It's darn hard work both mentally and psychically and any woes that remain usually go deeper than the weight ever did or are replaced by a few quirky more!

So pleased to hear from you Ceecie as you have been quiet for a few days and I was starting to fret about you. Am glad too that we were able to provide useful advice and encouragement to help you out of that place you were in ... We are all in this together, and no matter how supportive our friends, family and OHs are, none of them truly understand what it is like to be a person who has to go through bariatric surgery to gain control of our lives, bodies and future. As Frankie says, it is so complex with the emotions and the mental attitudes ... So right, it is not a magic wand to a slim future, and no one (especially us) should EVER belittle just how strong and determined we have to be. Keep positive hun, as the rewards so enormously outweigh the negatives. If/when it gets tough-going again, just remember why you did sign the consent form. Hugs a million xxx

You look so amazing! It's such a bit journey I was Biebe going into this and am only just learning all there is to learn about my band and my head now! X

I think everyone on here is looking amazing Ceecie you are an inspiration to all. Nothing can prepare you for the thoughts and the way your body copes with bariatric surgery, we can research till the cows come home but none of us are txt book cases we are all unique and have a story to tell. Some people come off worse than others and it can be life threatening and we need to be thankful that while we struggle most of us have not had to face those issues and put our close families through the mill at the same time. We are survivors and survival is the name of the game but the healthier way. Make the most of your 1st year ladies once you get to 2yrs out the fight really starts develop your good habits now and get a routine going and strict is a good idea. My body still doesnt feel hunger yet I still have 3 meals a day, wether I need them or not I fancy food make it sometimes have to leave it, I still have good restriction with good healthy nutritious food but with snacky crap foods can eat a fair amount. Onwards and downwards on this weight loss journey it can be bumpy so fasten your seat belts and brace yourself for the ride of ya lives. I went to a wedding at the weekend last week that was and I had a new dress which I loved yet when my hubby took the photos of me I thought I looked huge it put a downer on the day. My dress was a 20 and I used to be a 32-34 but on those photos I felt I looked the same. The head is a strange thing. xx

Aw welcome!!!

Best of luck with ur journey, look forward to hearing all about it xx

Hi & welcome fat free :) good luck with the dietician tomorrow too x

Thankyou ladies.....yet again!! :)

I don't think any of us can underestimate the power of support on this forum. Lilac and Frankie are right, no matter how loved we are in the "real world", this is and feels like a lonely battle....until you come on here and share.

Sharing is the most important aspect of this journey for me. I feel free to be completely open here and you are all gracious enough to accept me, on good and bad days. You are honest enough to give me a good telling off when I need it and share your own weaknesses and mistakes. But you always end with encouraging words.

It is priceless....and probably the main motivation I have other than wanting to make MYSELF proud. We did all sign up for surgery for different reasons and we all have different journeys....but we all share the fact that we said "I WANT TO CHANGE".

I have changed.....dramatically. I don't even know how much I've changed yet. I still see the same woman in the mirror. Ok, I know I've lost a bit of weight, but I don't have any awareness of exactly how monumental my loss has been until I look at my weight loss diary. I look back at the figures and think "bloody hell, how did I lose 10lbs over Christmas week" or "was I actually over 30 stone? Maybe I got it wrong".....

I'm starting to question that I was even that woman who was almost housebound and who struggled to get upstairs, only ever once per day (I've been up and down at least 6 times already and it's only 08.30)....it's weird that my life is the same, yet sooooo different!

The Lustral is doing it's magic. My chest feels panic free, I'm relaxed, seem back to my old self and looking forward to our holiday in a few weeks. Last year I arrived at the villa and didn't leave it until the day we came home. My partner went out and did all the shopping, took the kids to the beach etc. I needed him to help me get off the sofa, in the pool etc. we didn't sleep in the same bed as it wasn't big enough and I was too hot. I sat on a chair in front of the cooker to do meals.

THIS YEAR IM A DIFFERENT WOMAN!!!!!

That's how I know it is worth it. I'm going to post lots of pictures of me OUT!!

Lol :)

Love you lot! X
