Hi, I'm Kirsty, banded August 2014. My post op dairy

Hi Kirsty,
I have been reading your post here over past couple of days, they have been really helpful to me. I'm due to have band at Nuffield Glasgow next week. You, Sharon & friends are so supportive of each other, it's so nice.
Look forward to hearing how you are all getting on. x

Not long now for you love!!! Best decision so far in my weightloss journey!! Xx

Oh that's good they have acted so quickly babe! Let me know how you have got on

It was the dietitians first day lol...she had to look up her book lol lol

But very interesting! She said I am needing a fill. She also said that the contents of every meal should fit into a muller light yoghurt pot EEK!!!

She was pretty amazed at the amounts I can shove in :-( reasons we should not be eating large quantities is that our band can move down.

She has told me to eat 5 smaller meals a day and try to aim for 1000 cals a day

My BMI is down to 31 from 36

The first fill sate available is 26 September so will be a tough few weeks. Will k.eep phoning for a cancellation

Went shopping today, picked up a pair of jeans.....size 16...... I am defo between an 18 and a 16 the 18s are too big and the 16 are neat. I found a pair in debenhams today which are good on the legs but so so tight on the body but I took them as if I keep going the way I have been they should fit in two or three weeks time and all the others were baggy on the legs. That's over 50 pairs of jeans I have tried on on the post week :-( but at least I have a pair now

I'm a wee bit despondent I was trying on the two outfits I have for my big posh wedding on the first of November and they are both too big. I had bought a wee dress out TKmaax a few weeks ago and it looks like I will be wearing that, it's just a wee cheapie and my other outfits were classy...I suppose it is a good problem to have

Also I found a red herring black short crepe dress. I mean short, half way up my thighs (I have good legs). Two older women were waiting to get into the changing room and were looking at me. Mi was thinking, is this dress too short, am I too old to be wearing a dress this length. I turned and said, ladies is this dress too short for a woman my age. They instantly said yes! So I put it back. It had my luminous blue Scottish legs on show with black pop socks. Since I have come home, I can't stop thinking that the dress would have been perfect for the wedding with a nice pair of glossy black tights and a wee pair of ankle boots. I am away to the theatre tomorrow but on Sunday I am heading back into town to see if I can get that dress. It had 70% off and was £20. There was only one so I probably gave no chance

I had fun trying on loads of clothes. All 18. Some too big, some tight

My business suits are too big. I don't buy many clothes but what I buy is generally high end. (I am actually n jeans and hiking boots with a fleece at a t shirt most of the time as I work from home a lot) but at work and going to an event or out with friends wear quality clothes. There us no way I am buying expensive clothes that will only do me a couple of months. My wardrobe is emptying out fast. Mi have bought a case of clothes down from the lift and I have missed the boat with most of them, they are also too big. Though I did find two gorgeous velvet tops which I have not had on yet and the both fit yay! I have a real soft spot for velvet and crushed velvet lol. It's the old hippie in me

The dress I am wearing tomorrow is one I wore last week and felt it was roomy. Today it was a bit too loose so that will be it's last outing. I will post a picture. I have already put some pre op pictures on my profile but don't know how to let folks see them. There is nothing bang up to date I'm afraid as I delete anything I don't like, which us most photos lol

So nite nite peeps

Kirsty that's good about the dietician!! Sounds like common Sense when you hear it but not what u think of! I could eat more than a muller pot, prior to this fill, hopefully when get more out il be eating better...not ate anything today! Granted haven't really been hungry after my episode today!!

That's great about the clothes!! I binned another pair jeans today that were falling down, and actually did when I was going up my stairs tonight lol!!

I been looking for dresses for engagement party and Christmas night out but think need to head in try stuff on as between sizes...plus need inspiration as haven't saw anything I like yet x

Go get that dress, I have faith it's there!!! Or just as good one xx

Let you know how get on tomorrow!! X

Hi girls. Had a fab day out. Drinks, curry and the jersey boys stage show.

Felt very ill during first half of the show. If I hadn't had the band I would have thought I was having a heart attack. My first awful experience with the band. I hardly ate any of my curry but I think the few wines and bailies was just a step too far lol. I must have been bad. The ushers were coming into the loo with iced water and asked did I need a medic or a ambulance lol. I was grey and the sweat was beading across my face.

Sharon. I headed into town for debenhams opening at 9am and got that dress. I have posted a few pictures but don't know how to get them up on here. You would need to go onto my profille

So happy u got that dress!! It was destined to be yours!! Saw the pictures and your looking great! Was bad and weighed myself again..1/4 lb loss..so 3st 1.5lbs over all...need to go back and wait till Friday to weigh myself..was just as hadn't been eating last few days!

Xx

Gosh Kursty, hope you're ok now. Had you ever had that feeling before?? Is it worth getting it checked out?? Xx

Yes Kirsty, if you ever get pain like this make sure you rest for 24-48 hours , suck ice and drink cold water. I've had this several times to the point I felt I had a slippage but I didn't if you rest and ice and water it settles pretty quickly ;-)

Hope your ok and glad you enjoyed your evening sweets xxxx

What actually causes the pain though?

I think / believe it's the pressure of the oesophagus pushing the food down to the tummy and when the band causes a restriction the follow into the Tummy is obstructed causing the pressure pain, the only way to stop the pain is realise that pressure , ie, the food come back up , so being sick if it hasn't gone through the band yet isn't as bad as being sick when foods gone through .. Still isn't great or good either way but it puts less strain on the band which is tided around the top pouch of the stomach ... Hope this reads well ... It made sense in my head .... X
