Hi, I'm Kirsty, banded August 2014. My post op dairy

Well girls had day two wine free

Dogs walked at 7am

Kept myself busy again. - today I went along to the Glasgow weight loss support group at gartnavel. Great group of ladies. Two were twelve years out - and kept eight and twelve stones off the others doing fab too. All banders save one newbie sleever

This after noon I cooked

Diet coke chicken
Mince
Broccoli and Stilton soup
Tzatziki

I done a shop too cold meat. More fage strawberries and cream

Let's see how I do on the scales tomorrow

Busy busy busy day

12st 8 and a Half today not sure if that's one or one and a half down from last week

That weird shape changing thing happened though. I put a picture up a few weeks ago of that wee black and white dress I bought. Well three days ago it was too tight at the waist. I had bought another dress as I bought the black and white one when I had got down to twelve five and a half the week after my repair surgery and when I put on a few pounds it was tight....... But when I tried it on this morning it was loose about the waist. I always tell folks that even when the scales don't move. They will be shrinking...so my advice worked on me. I wore the wee outfit to the christening today and got a rare compliment from Lindsay :) when I appeared down the stairs he told me I looked lovely

Aiming to be under twelve and a half for the weigh in next week. Dropping like this is more sustainable than that mad 9lb after surgery,,,most of it went straight back on

Heard from Willow and she said to tell you she was asking for you and a special hello to Sharon and Karina

Yes Kirsty weight loss is more than scales and weighing I feel a loss in shape before I see scales move.

That's why weighing more than you need is damaging behaviour so keep to once a week, and as you get slimmer you might go to fortnightly weighs like me.

If I'm unaware I tend to do better, if I see no change I go into binge mode x

That's why weighing more than you need is damaging behaviour so keep to once a week, and as you get slimmer you might go to fortnightly weighs like me. Well said Alfie. Scales are the devils invention. A hard habit to break, like heroin, but oh so worth it. Unfortunately I have been forced back into daily weighing, but not recording thank God, by my GP and this fluid retention. Arrggggghhhhh.

More binges stem from stepping onto the scales than anything else imo.

Here's the cycle.

1.Step on sclaes,
2.STS or gain or even lose less than you hoped
3.be miserable all day because of #2,
4.Start drinking to feel 'better' than #3
5.what the heck "in for a penny" start bingeing
6. Feel like crap.. All because you did number ONE.
7.rinse and repeat ..

Guess what caused number 2 ? Everyone of us knows the answer and yet....

Ha weegie brilliantly written, many will know that cycle and me and Kirsty are experts lol x

I speak from experience also. Was a few years ago but I broke the cycle, it can be done. This is why I am so annoyed at being sucked back into the daily weighing. I wont go back to the drinking, thats behind me, but I certainly have had a mini binge as a result. One of the biggest favours you can do to help your weight loss is break that cycle if you recognise it.
