January 2014 surgeries

Excellent news badger pink!!! I had my sleeve on 3rd jan, and all is going well!!! I am sure you will be fine!!
I was recommended to get boots own dry mouth spray - which I got and found it a god send!!! I don't travel light, but did try and cut down, but still didn't need half the things I took!!! I do recommend a couple of flavours of NAS squash - I got a bit fed up of just orange, so family bought in peach barley which was lovely!!! I took my own pillow- mainly for the journey home held over my tummy - which really helped, and it was nice to have my own pillow in hospital! I took magazines and a book, but was so tired after the anesetic I didn't even read anything!! Hope that helps xxxx any questions just ask!! Xx

Awesome. What surgery are you having. Do you know how long you will be in hospital. I'm bypass next Wednesday and just packed. 1 case of essentials like dressing gown slippers etc then a desperate bag of ipad magazines etc that will get hubby to bring in the next day if I'm going to be in longer than 1 night. Everyone says lip salve and dry mouth spray so have packed one set in case and 1 set In handbag. Good luck and let us know when you get your date through.
 
Any1 struggling a bit on their pre op?? Im on a high protein low carb one and all I can think about is the stuff I cant have aghhh started monday hope it gets easier xx

I really struggled until day 5 when it just felt normal. Day 8 and it's actually ok. I also gave up smoking th same day but it does get better.
 
Me too larabelle but ive been naughty and had 1 each day I plan to not do that but my nerves r wrecked n I figure 1 is better than a pack :(( what diet are u on? X

I think it's the 1000kcal 100 carb but just following the sheet they gave me. Been smoking 20 years and thought I wouldn't be able to do it but I'm my own boss for worked from home for the first week so it nothing could annoy me. I have had a few bad emotional days but turning point today.
 
Mine was very vague or more restrictive. Just says evening 100g lean meat with 2 tbs past,rice or 2 small potatoes. Lunch is half the meat with 1 piece of bread or crispbreads. Breakfast cereal or 1 piece of toast. All the raw veg I could eat for snacks. As much salad or veg with meals and as much sugar free jelly.

Good morning all... Surgery done with and everything went to plan! I get discharged at 10am as their schedule ran late yesterday so I was only seen at 6:30pm. However the staff at Dolan Park are absolutely lovely so if you have your op planned here, rest assured, you're in good hands!

Thank you for all the well wishes yesterday! I'm looking forward to continuing this journey with all of you :)
 
my date is wednesday the 15th just found out and only started pre-op diet last night.... i have my pre-op at 1.30 today doubt il pass my ECG my heart rates thru the roof atm eeeeeekkkkkk
