Well I must admit pepper mint tea has been my saviour. I've been poorly with it and not drinking so caused dehydration so been on drips up until an hour ago.. wind has been unbearable but the light at the end of the tunnel is coming as taking the peppermint tea and has really relieved it .. @Angeline hope all goes well tomorrow sending hugs your way xx

My abbreviations and nonsense words just prove my befuddlement. I had surgery on the 9th with intense pain following the leakage tolerance test, they went back in to look again but still couldn't find anything. I was in so much pain they had no choice but to put me out again and this time found a three inch area of leakage. Kept out of of it for another 3 days on intensive care. But now have a lot of surgery to recover from. Can't get out of bed on my own yet
another try today. This nearly went very wrong for me so explore the risks thoroughly.

The worst thing about ICU was the intensive paranoid dreams.
The dreams could be the morphine, I used to have awful dreams when on it and even once saw a woman in an old fashioned hospital gown walk past the end of my bed. I still have oralmorph for my condition and have nasty dreams still. Hope they will go as soon as you are off that stuff. Xxx

Part of my prolonged stay in hospital is that I've had 2 keyhole surgeries and one big open one. I'm used to morphine but evidentially hallucinations are not uncommon during prolonged stays in ICU. It's very scary when the only person you trust is your husband and there are scores of professionals out there to "get you". Any ideas for something that's not a big box of chocolates to say thank you that will last a few days? Especially to those who I trusted least when I should have been trusting them most.

Hospital itself can feel like a parallel universe, never mind ICU and all you have been through. :(

The only thing I can think of other than chocolates is a big tin of biscuits.

I was wondering about pre-paid fruit vouchers for the canteen. What's really not fair after all this is that they have weighed me this morning and I am 10 kg heavier than when I came into hospital. Mind you, I have blown up like a blimp!

Yes, how has everyone else got on with their operations post 9th January?
