June 2015 Surgeries

I'm just leaving for the hospital now, being admitted today for op tomorrow. Too excited. i just hope i can sleep tonight.

Hope you get a sleep tonight hun, and on e again good luck. Only had 3 hours last night and had upset tum (stress) all day, but outwardly I look calm lol Sort of started my packing but its a nightmare, mind gone blank and cannot find lists. :8855:
 
Hope it all goes well for everyone having their op. Sorry I haven't really been posting lately, I came home earlier today and I've been finding it hard to recover here. My 8 month old daughter always wants me to pick her up and cuddle her and j feel so bad that I can't. My poor husband is running around looking after me and the kids as well as going to work. My sister helps while he's not here. My 2 year old was recently potty trained so that's a good thing. My 4 year old is actually very independent and helpful but I can't help feeling that I'm being selfish and not giving my children the attention they need and deserve and that maybe I shouldve waited until they were a bit older. I'm also finding it really hard to get my fluids in and my blood pressure is low so I'm feeling dizzy alot.
Jackie how are you getting on? Any tips or advise? How are you finding recovery at home?

Hi Jay, you poor thing you have so much going on. I am fine thanks. Been very emotional today but no reason really.
Regarding the fluids, I sen t hubby out to buy me a sports bottle top and have filled it up with No Added Sugar diluted juice and his seems to be ok. I am also have in cups of tea but this is very cold by the time I manage to finish it!
Can you feel every drop going down? it is the weirdest feeling ever isn't it?
Just keep going you are doing so well.
Enjoy the sleep in your own bed tonight!

Strangely I can't feel everything dropping down as it hits my stomach but I can't seem to get much down at all. As my belly starts hurting after 5 or 6 little sips. Am I having too much? Do your scars still hurt? How is recovery for you almost a week post op? Xxxx
 
Sometimes it's my chest that hurts as well. It feels like my chest is expanding and it hurts then the pain subsides after a minute or so. Does anyone know what this means? It's really preventing me from getting my fluids in?

Three young pre-school children are hard work at the best of times, you have my fill sympathy dealing with so much right after surgery. Please let your loved ones co as much as possible and also rest, you need rest. Take care and hope you feel better soon.

Just packing cases for 3 of us, its a war zone here too :O Leavinf for lairport in four and a half hours. Doubt there will be much sleeping done :)
 
Got a phone call about 4:30pm, surgery got cancelled...I don't even know what hit me...

Awww a family trip sounds really nice. How long are you guys going to be staying over there? How are you feeling about your op? Xxx
