Hi Mandy,
Well done you on the weight loss. I can't believe that he expected you to lose more. I would definitely be in the bad books if he saw my weight loss!!
Did they test you for B12 etc? I only got to see my dietician in my appointment and she weighed me and I convinced her to test my blood to make sure that I have enough vitamins etc, but I'm not sure if this is when I should be tested for them. They never did anything to test my fat percentages etc. Nonetheless she seemed happy with what I'm doing weight and food wise. Do you think I should chase up my surgeon/bariatric nurse for more tests or am I OK with what the dietician tested me on?? Sorry for the questions, it's just I'm not sure what I should have done in my 6 week appointment and the nurse was away on a course and so my appoinment with her was cancelled...

Hi Hun Thanks..........

Every surgeon is different, everytime i have been for a consultation, they have done my fat percentage and that..... I had bloods done at my gps about month ago, everything came back fine...... my surgeon doesn't do B12 injections as he says you don't need them unless you show you are low in your blood results........

I am sure you are fine...... I would say if you feel great then you are..........

WOW Mandy 7 1/2 stone that is amazing you must be so happy and proud of your acievement. good to see your feeling more postivie too hun x

Hi Mandy,
Congratulations on a fantastic weight loss. 7.5 stones is amazing. I had my operation 2 days after yours, so I have just hit my 6 months. I had my blood tests done, and everything is fine. I have lost 6 stones exactly in the 6 months and this has really slowed down in the last 6 weeks. In fact, its only been about 10lbs in the last 6 weeks.
Sara - I haven't had the B12 injections, and my consultant says I don't need them yet as I my blood tests were fine. I am having a very varied diet and can eat anything.
I have been very lucky that I have never been sick, or had any dumping in the 6 months either. What sort of thing makes you dump? Is it the quantity of what you eat? I ate a Wispa the other week without really thinking what I was doing, and after I finished it, I expected to dump, but nothing.
The consultant says I have lost 37% of my excess weight, and as they say most people will lose about 70% of their excess weight, I am half way there!!!
Really glad all is going well, and I am amazed at 7.5 stones - that is fantastic.
Well done & keep it up

Thanks hunny............. told you, your probarly holding water!!!!!!

I can't wait to see you either.......... so excited, getting my hair done too....... see just for youxxxxxxx

Thanks Lottie. I had blood tests so I'll see if they show anything. I can eat most things too now, 6 months after the op. I usually suffer from really fatty things or things with hidden sugars once in a blue moon. I've managed a piece of chocolate and even a Blue WKD or two!! Naughty I know. It's funny, I get a weird feeling when I eat something that will make me dump, like an onion ring, and that stops me from eating it although my mind still wants to nibble.
A fantastic weight loss by you Mandy, but there are so many of you doing so well out there. You must be so pleased. My weightloss doesn't compare much to most people's but I try to console myself that I have lost 47% of my excess weight although it's only 4 stone 4 that I've lost in 6 months. I'm also being stubborn and refuse to go on the scales often now so that when I do I can see more change. Are any of you doing this??

Such great weightloss! You should be so proud. You are now under 200lbs which is so great. Keep up your good work. You are an inspiration to us all:D

p.s. - I don't own a scale because I thought it would drive me mad but not knowing how much I have lost might be worse!!! I may break down and buy one...
