Newly banded

Hopefully you'll notice more difference when your back on the crunchy stuff.
These liquids are not hitting the spot for me today!
I know what you mean about portions. I feel like i could eat much much more. I've only not been able to finish my food once & still not recognising the 'new' banded full feeling or even the difference between not hungry & full.
Shows how much of a learning curve wls is, even all these weeks later I'm still referring to my info booklet daily!

Yvonne how are you feeling since surgery? I'm new on here and due for surgery next Saturday and having consultation tomorrow. Just readin though all your posts.

Diet today:

Porridge
milky coffee

mid morning

3 x breakfast biscuits

Lunch

Veggie Lasagna

No restriction at all, still felt hungry, just got home from work and decided to try a prawn salad.

two mouthfuls and feel restricted. Think crunchy food is the way to go, its the only food with takes me 20 mins to each and gives me full feeling. x

Hi ya. Im feeling great a little disheartened i'm having to wait till 3rd april for my 1st fill (10 weeks to the day since banded) but im nhs so no choice. Im on the home run now tgough so not too bad I can see the light. And god fo I need it. I currently have no restriction what so ever. I've gained 3lb since going onto solids in last 4 weeks. Apart from this though no regrets at all. Good luck hun & keep me posted. Where you having your surgery? You tempted by any of the others? I was by the sleeve but didnt like the thought of such harsh surgery although there currently saying its the new band xxx

Hey Yvonne, are you having to wait purely because it's an NHS surgery package?

How are you on a daily basis, do u feel any different? Xx

Hi Donna
Not been on for a few days. It sounds like you have been through it with your fills. Poor you. Are you feeling ok now?
I had a fill but still feel able to eat plenty.Have lost no weight in almost 2 weeks now but just need to try and stick to around 1000 cals and see what happens.

Yes hun. I shouldn't complain as I'm very lucky I just can't believe they leave you 10 weeks till 1st fill. I'd lost 4 stone in total with pre & post op diet but since going onto fluids I've gained 3lb. Day to day I don't feel like I have a band. Although I eat something quick or don't chew it enough & I get a not so gentle reminder. Not long to wait for me now

I'm not really eligible for banding as my BMI is only 33 just. But as I'm a serial yo yo dieter and I've got to my heaviest ever and finally decided enough enough, I'm not maintaining coz I'm hungry all the time, I decided looking at all the surgeries for banding... Although I think a balloon would be a waste of time for me, I can loose weight over 4-6 month period (although it's getting harder every time) I'd of loved a bypass, but what put me off was the permanency of it and the fact the weight gain is so very common with it- long term. So banding I figured was best option... (This time next week I may feel completely different.

Ahhhh that's great you got it on the NHS and it's funded. Fingers xd you can stay motivated with it, not long to you get the fill. Pls pls keep me posted on how the fill is. I'll be petrified I think .

Big hugs Yvonne darling and massive your on they way slimmer happier you.

Xxx

Argh thanks huni. I've everything crossed for you. Have you had your consultation? I had exactly the same thought about bypass & sleeve. The band was less invasive, quicker recovery & like you say you can keep tweaking it to work for you. Plus im a tit with pain lol. Definately keep me posted on your journey huni. I was just shopping online for a nice top its so much nicer for me buying smaller clothes xxx

Ahh thanks Yvonne, sorry I'm just learning how this site actually works as I want to start a diary and a video diary too. (Not sure how to do either) ahhh new clothes I love that about weight loss,- did you buy lots or just a bit at a time?
having the confidence for me to wear them is another issue entirely,... ( I think i have body dysmorphia) lol... Yes I had my consultation and it went fab. He was so happy with me as a patient. He said he will see me next Saturday... That's the 6days to post op diet and get my head around all this. He totally understood that I wanted this under control before it got too far which was a massive relief. I was expecting him to laugh at me. A lot of reviews said people hated the consultant, Mr El-Hasani, I loved him, totally professional, an expertise in the field and high up in the NHS . I'm worried about after effects etc. PB and work as I never have much time to eat in my job. Soooo... Yeh, went really well. Looking forward to it..... Xxx

Oh fantastic I think you need to feel relaxed with your surgeon & it sounds like you are. I had Mr Super he was lovely too.
As for clothes I've not bought too much and am becoming addicted to ebay. Selling my bigger stuff and getting bargains too as im hoping I'll be miving onto a new size soon. Xxx

I'm sure you will then you can post all those lovely before and after photos. Whoooo! Xx

Hi Sue,

Not going to have any more fills, I think Im better off staying with 3.5mls in this band. I can still eat plenty too with my infill, I am trying to stay at 1200 cals a day, I find I lose 2lbs a week on this, any less and I get tired and crabby. I think you have to find a calorie intake with suits you, maybe your not eating enough? maybe try upping the calories a little and try eating more protein than carbs. x

Well y6he day has finally arrived i'm getting my fill in 3 hours time & i'm so nervous I just dont know what to expect. Wish me luck xxx

Well I had my fill & I'm a near fainter. If that makes sense I came over all funny hot clammy week so the man stopped. It was everso odd he was having difficulty dping my fill but managed to get it in tge end. I had just over 2ml in it from the op I now have 5ml. And feel fine but a little silly xxx
