Newly banded

Good Morning everyone, well I'm off to Birmingham this afternoon, should arrive there around 6pm this evening, Banded tomorrow, not sure what time yet I should find out tonight at pre op. Think i've managed to loose 10.5lbs on the pre op diet so pleased with that. I'm not so nervous today as I thought I would be, I think it will sink in when I arrive though. Will keep you all posted, I'm bring my Ipad and phone, I've downloaded some movies to pass the time.

Hi Carol. Good luck for tomorrow and yeh keep us posted on how you get on xxxx

I'm now the proud owner of a 10ml band with 5ml in on my 1st fill.
Pretty simple procedure, no drama. Fingers crossed for restriction now

Still cant believe they are going to make you wait so long, the whole point of a band is restriction and they are not giving you that, bet you are counting the days xx

Gosh Yvonne. That is a long time to wait.
How's your weight loss? When were you banded?

When I went for my infill last thursday, I had lost 2 stone, as I had put 4 pounds on in barcelona, but since last thursday I have lost another 7 lbs , so same as you now 2.5 stone, feels great, clothes are too big and gone down 3 sizes in my trousers and two on top. Still got a long way to go though. xx

That's fantastic! I'm noticing some clothes getting looser but i dont think I've gone down a size yet, i do think I've been in denial about going up the last size or two & just squeezed in what I could!!
Can't wait till I'm back in 18's & when I get to 16 that'll be a 1st for over 20 years.

Oh I know im pulling my hair out but nothing I can do. I was banded 21st January and with pre op diet I've lost 2 stone but am so worried now of putting it on. I gained 2lb last week.

I had to wait this long think 11 weeks in total! I've only had 4ml in my band in total. 3 during surgery, 1 during a fill. Try not to worry about the wait for your fill. At the end of the day the band only aids you. It's you that has to do the hard work and get your head in the correct space. Eat dry solid food like chicken breast, or some form of solid protein and try not to eat slider foods as they will slide straight through leading to you feeling hungry.

I'm 4months out have only had one fill but have lost 3 stone 10 in total! You can do this! Did the dietician give you some tips on what to eat? X x x Stay positive Hun x x

Argh thank you babe. To be honest I haven't found my dietitian helpful what so ever. I think she thinks we should all live on vegetable juice and nothing else. She even lectured me on taking lactulose because its packed with sugar. Never mind the fantastic results it has for me and I only take 15ml a day. I don't take sugar with hot drinks or on cereal It's always sweetener so I cant see how that 15ml would effect me. I'm being good and using my slimming world principles in much smaller portions. Roll on my fill day. Your loss is fantastic babe. Do you have any foods you cant tolerate ?? Xxx

I think your doing great and your plan sounds good I wouldn't worry about the laculose. Initially I couldn't eat bread but I think that was more of a fear of trying it. I can eat anything in small doses x x

Oh bread I can tolerate and I love it so I have to be careful. My fear is in rice & pasta as I've heard they can be a bit troublesome. I'm gonna conquer that though I'm making a spaghetti bolognese tomorrow xxx

Pasta I find hard to eat, put rice which I still chew 20 x 20, no problems at all. As long as you chew chew chew you will have no problems x

Hi guys How's everyone doing?. Im struggling big time and cannot wait for my band fill. Still no date but I'm hoping for the 1st week in April. My weight loss has stayed the same thank god xx

I've booked my 2nd fill for 2 weeks tomorrow. Have eaten well today after last weeks fill (1st day on solids) & feeling physically hungry a lot! Can't say I've noticed much difference at all since the fill. It is the 1st day so hopefully I'll notice a difference in the next few days

Iv got mine booked in for two weeks today. I still cant find restriction and have to stop myself eating after 20 mins, but the first week I did notice some. Think it takes a bit of working out, I was better yesterday when I had more crunchy foods, try them tomorrow and see if that makes a difference. x

Hi I cant fault it. My surgeon was Mr Super & he was lovely I went in at 8am & down to theatre about 1pm. That was the boring bit, take magazines. I did have to stay in over night as they hit a blood vessel going in, a 1 in 300 chance apparently and that was me lol. I was kinda glad to be honest as I just slept & had I have been home I'm not sure I'd of slept as much. I was discharged at 12 the next day. The staff in day surgery were lovely really friendly. Whens your surgery date? You being banded with Mr Super? Xxx

No I went private and went to Dolan Park which belongs to the hospital group. I know somebody who had a bypass there and could not fault the place, also Yvonnebanded had her band there. Its a good hospital x
