Ask away. They are very friendly on here and always will to share information. I'm nearly 2 weeks post op and admittedly finding certain elements a struggle but learning daily. Looking forward to the puree stage.


I was discharged two days after surgery. The incisions (4) are quite small, largest is 2" and healing nicely.
Met Dr Chang a few times , incl twice following surgery. Her colleague Dr Singh who carried out the ward rounds is very funny. Hopefully you might be admitted to Copcoat ward which has only been open a month and is spacious and geared up for bariatric surgeries / patients.


I've taken a month off work and they recommend six weeks but this will differ dependent on your lifestyle , job etc. Really glad made the decision to have a gastric sleeve and wish had considered years ago but only had a lightbulb moment prior to starting initial journey in 2011 and learning more about it in the media. Kings could improve on the support offered as I heard nothing from joining list until just prior to being offered a surgery date. Several previous dates were refused due to short notice and work commitments and really wanted to complete a pre op diet beforehand. Probably beneficial to try and maintain regular contact with Pauline Smith who manages Dr Chang's appointment as managed to negotiate the most suitable dates especially given the suggested waiting times of 12- 15 months. As your next appointment is March would suggest reading , researching and make a list of questions .Hope this helps.

I think I saw Mr Singh when I was there in November. He seemed nice. Can`t wait to start my journey back to living. I`d go in tomorrow if they offered me the chance. Good luck for now and in the future. Thank you for replying to me.

Lost the plot earlier and have now spoken to Somers on the phone. He apologised for the member of the team that didn't book gastrographfin. I laid my thoughts on the line and I think we are moving forwards. Going to increase fluids, have test tomorrow then drains out tomorrow It's a plan!!

sounds like thats a positive will keep everything crossed that there is no leaks and that you have a speedy recovery from here on out

I would have thought, if you did have a leak you'd be in alot of pain because of the acid? :/ I duno lol I really hope everything goes ok tomorrow. They're bloody hopeless though by the sounds of it!
You've been up and about loads already, well done Just please dont over do it I have experience of this lol Oh yes! Once you bottom burp the sense of relief is awesome. Feels very strange at first, the tummy bubbles. But once you fluff AAHHH... lovely hehe ^-^

Mmhmm he's abit of alright that's for sure. Abit of a cringe moment when I think he may have possibly seen me butt naked apart from a pair of big ol' granny pants >. < oh dear...

Oh, duno if you guys are interested at all? Lidl have a specials on 1kg of whey protein powder in chocolate flavour. 20g protein, 3.2g sat fat & 1.3g sugar per 28g scoop. 133 calories. Its £17.99.
I have no idea if I bought the right stuff or if I spent too much but ive got it now! Just incase

Morning everyone, got up went for my walk. Wind pain kicking In today but know what it is so not worried. Just going to stick to paracetamol today. Most of my wind is up. Sip, sip, sipping. Lets get this test done , drains out and get out of here! Feeling positive! X

Hell yeah! Good attitude! Last weekend until Christmas, tell them you'll be spending it at home with your family I know its early but have they said anything to you yet?
