November 2013 Surgeries

thank flick I go and get some have they got vanilla ?

They only had chocolate in the Cowplain lidl. Im not a sure if they stock any other flavours? It can be added to milk, water, yoghurt etc. I wanted a tasteless one but thought that one was relatively cheap so just bought it! :)

Just had drain out. Test this afternoon. If ok build up the drink and possibly go tonight or tomorrow am. So that's the plan I'm aiming on! Feeling ok

How did the test go Audra? Hope you're ok

Anyone else get sick of explaining wls to family and friends? Doing my head in now! X

Nope as I've told no one apart from my partner :)

I don't have to hide it from anyone as there is just me and fella living here, I work from home online so no one at work see's me eat :D

if you didnt want to explain the surgery route you could just ask for smaller portions saying that your dieting and dont want / need large portions or certain foods

Ive told close friends and all of my family know. Id rather the people who see me everyday know rather than trying to hide it. As the weight loss is rapid compared to other diets, trying to explain it ages after its happened would be worse than just explaining all about it now :)

All my immediate family are aware and been supportive. Surprisingly quite a few of them know someone who's had wl surgery.

My family know, and a few friends do too. My friends from the gym know, they'd see the difference in me if not anyway, but also told them because I trust them and like them. All but one person I have told are all perfectly fine about it, the one person who had something bad to say just got told it's my body and life, my choice!

Anyone that I eat in front of know, I will tell anyone who I know will support me in my decision, and anyone that doesn't, obviously aren't supporting or true friends. My family have been amazing, all wanting to know how it's all going, any appointments I have etc, they're just so encouraging because they all know how much I've struggled, I'm very glad I have them :)

I understand where you are coming from not wanting to tell people, but like it's been said, some of you are finding it hard to keep it under wraps with the portion sizes and things etc. just do what feels right to you, whether you want to tell someone that you've had surgery, or just that it's your new way of eating - and it's working! Don't worry about what others think, it's your life, your choice and you've done it for you, not them! Xxx

Morning got home about 7pm last night Gastrographfin looked all clear! That wasn't fun i Had to drink a load of disgusting fluids whist this machine took pictures of me standing then it laid me back felt like I was in a washing machine. But how cares the results were great. I still have to go slow so watery liquids for two weeks. I walked to the car park and felt ok. Onwards and downwards now! Thanks for the support! X

Thanks for the message ClareA! These things happen. Physically it's been much better than I thought. The wind is a pain In my chest and back but totally manageable. Op pain fine now. It's just been a bit of an emotional journey whilst in hospital with the extra worry but end result is good so feeling confident and positive. X
