November 2013 Surgeries

I'm struggling with fluids, which is probably why my weightloss has slowed down! Must make more of an effort!..... How much is everyone losing per week now? Has it slowed down? X

I think mine has slowed a little this week as I've introduced more varied foods and been trying different things. I'm not worried though, I still feel full after about 5 tbsps maximum.

Try not to focus so much on the scales. Easy to say, I know, but don't put yourself under pressure xx
 
Good good :) I've been reading your food diary and it looks spot on. I still have a lot of restriction and can only eat pretty small amounts. I did have a tiny bit of pasta last night and managed to digest it well :) mince is working really well for me! X

Yes after being pretty "scared" to try new food (extreme vomit phobia) I am being pretty good and trying a variety of things, still very small amounts ie I cant eat a whole 1 egg omelette but I'm satisfied with what I am eating :)

I'm a bit concerned, I eat a 2 egg omelette with beans no probs.....last night I ate a 5 oz steak!!!....I'm not getting any pain, I just stop when I start getting wind!!!

Haven't actually vomitted yet either....just felt nauseous a couple of times.

I wonder if my pouch is bigger because I was so much bigger than everyone else.....
 
Everyone's different. My surgeon made my pouch 15ml and gave me a small anamatosis (hence I got a stricture) because I'm 5ft and have a small frame and want to lose weight fast for ivf. I'm also extremely phobic about sickness and dumping so I take things extra slow. I chew each mouthful 20/30 times, put my fork down between mouthfuls and wait 60/90 seconds before the next mouthful. If your team are happy with the amount you're eating and you're not throwing up, should be fine, but always best to check with them if you're worried at all x
 
We are all different, I've heard folks say they can't eat things like chicken/pork/bacon etc which I can eat, don't worry about what others do Ceecie hunni so long as you and your team are happy with the way things are going xx
 
Everyone is so varied!

My apetite changes day to day. A few days ago I had a whole chicken breast for lunch and again for dinner! Tried yesterday and I only just managed half and it wasnt pleasent getting it down. I cant have pork or beef atm im instantly sick! And I cant even manage a whole scrambled egg. No bread or rice, though I can manage a lil pasta in sauce. Fruit, veg and salad is all fine.
Im probably eating 1-2 tbsps of cooked food.
2 breakfast biscuits with tea in the morning. Melba toast, cottage cheese, chicken breast etc for lunch and whatever hubby & baby have for dinner but protein heavy!

Ive had a continuous loss but some weeks its been lots, others its been just 1-2lb. My body is reacting to the loss by jump starting my hormones. Previous to the op I had just 1 period in a year. Since the milk diet in november ive already had 2 and last month I even noticed signs of ovulation!! Hopefully ill be able to say bye bye to my PCOS!

Im setting myself mini targets instead of one big one waaayyy off. My next is to match my hubby's weight by easter so ive got 3 months to lose another 3 stone(ish) Ive lost that and some in the 2 months since the op so im hoping its achieveable!

Hey everyone, glad to hear the weightloss is going well for everyone. I have steadied out and lose an average of 3.5 pounds per week now, just over a stone a month so I hope it continues!! Total loss is 4.5 stone since starting the milk diet and I feel so much better for it, still a long away to go but it feels a lot closer now.

Food wise I can eat most things, haven't tried bread, pasta or rice yet, think I will leave it a bit longer. I am sick after meals sometimes but I haven't mastered slow and small yet, I think I was feeling I should be eating more than just a couple of teaspoons but my pouch doesn't want it! I'm glad to see most if you are only eating a few teaspoons the same as me. Not had any dumping but only eat tiny tries of sweet things occasionally.

It's my birthday on Friday (big 40 gulp) and I've got friends round for drinks, I've ordered some crystal light and going to try a tiny amount of vodka in it to celebrate so fingers crossed I don't get any ill effects from it. I have been in a quandary whether to drink or not for weeks but have decided to try one very weak glass and sip slowly, none of my friends know I've had the op so they will think its strange I'm not drinking so I'm going to have two drinks in the go, one without alcohol and hope I don't get sussed, has anyone else tried alcohol yet?

Love reading everyone's updates although I don't post often, I am more of a lurker! Xx
 
Great to here everyone's progressing well! I'm teetotal so I haven't tried alcohol yet. I'm a bit of a chicken so I haven't tried a lot of things yet! I tried low fat pate yesterday and tummy said no. It doesn't like mash/baked potato either. Pasta -and noodles seems ok in v small amounts. Crackers fine. Haven't tried bread or rice or pastries yet. Or any meat besides chicken or mince. Or fruit lol. I'm such a baby! Lol xx
 
I tried strawberries yesterday after watching weightloss ward and seeing one of the patients eating strawberries, had 2 very small ones and they were fine, gave me the confidence to try a plum today (no skin) but that didn't feel so great, oh and last week I tried a grape but didn't feel confident enough to swallow so spat it out!

Do you still enjoy cooking Nicola? I feel it is such an effort to eat such a small amount of it that I tend to just have soup if it's just for me xx
 
I have had lots of fruit peaches grapes melons pears strawberries & cherries :)

Yes :( I had alcohol at new years. Malibu, and 50:50 diluted pineapple juice. I was fine but havent done it since. It was just to toast new years (it was lovely :p) lol

Make a few mocktails for yourself and hide them? Stick it in a posh glass and no one will know any difference ;)

Had half a jacket potato woth tuna for dinner. Stuffed. Horrible feeling. I wanna go throw up! Its heavy! :(
 
I had tuna too I marinaded in in lime and chilli and grilled it I managed 3 strips I had salad with it :)
 
I'm not too bad! I'm loosing about 4-5 lb a week and wearing size 20 jeans now which is lovely. People are really starting to notice now. Kim isn't on here now. I'll PM you. X
 
That's a brilliant loss! Well done :D I bet getting into a size smaller feels amazing, huh?
I look forward to getting that small. On top it will quick, lower half long way off yet! :p
