On Diet only to be told, operation cancelled

Yeah, you read right. I was struggling on the diet and my husband has taken time off work ( 2 weeks) and cant cancel it, so iuts time wasted, I've got my bag packed all childcare & extra help in order, only to be told no your ops cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances" What can you do?:cry:

:cry:I know, I am totally feeling sorry for myself, I will get over it, i suppose. The secretary said, they do it all the time. How unfair that people get their hopes up and prepared for a large op only to be told, nope sorry, its cancelled. Its because a cancer patient has been put in that day. but surely you would of thought they would allow for such things.

I, and a few others on here know exactly how you feel. Heartlands are in a bit of a mess as the surgeon did a runner. We had our ops cancelled at very short notice and have heard nothing for weeks. I have rung several times but nobody has been able to tell me anything. It's so frustrating as you say, because plans were put into place, holidays arranged etc. Hope you get a new date soon.

I called heartlands today.. The 2 surgeons are still not operating.... Not sure how or when they will catch up the list that has been behind after mr kumars 'departure'

That happened to me too. They gave me about two weeks notice of the cancellation. I was given a date just three weeks later though.

Happened to me too I have had a hernia repair and tummy tuck cancelled 3 times
First 2 times the hospital cancelled (the first time the night before the op) and the 3rd time they cancelled due to me having an abscess under my tooth.

My op was cancelled on the day, I was all gowned up and ready to go to theatre!
I hope you get a new date soon and that your husband can sort something out with his leave.
