I am having gastric bypass, gall bladder removal and hernia fixing via open surgery on 30th April 2009 at York Hospital.....

Any one else at York???

Any advise????

My feelings are Thrilled, scared....and very mixed...mainly as its open surgery

Hi Juni,

Have added your date to the list. My advise is to read up and research as much as possible. Read a few people's stories and blogs on here to get an idea of what it's really like. Most of the Walsall Manor and St Richards patients have open so there are a lot about who have been that route.

It's completely natural to get nervous x

I will be having a Duodenal switch on 5th May at Spire Murrayfield on the Wirral. Has anyone else had the DS done?

Hi Yasmine, I don't think we've had anyone having the switch so far. We've a few that have had the sleeve though, which is half of the switch.

Murrayfield is a nice hospital, my hubby had foot surgery there on Monday, we're only up the road

I live in Whiston. I went on thursday to the hospital and it is really nice and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. So looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life!!!!

Thank you so much for answereing me. My op will be at the whittington and Mr Heath will be performing it. I started this journey 3 years ago, joined a wls site that you had to pay for, never did gets the hang of it and let it lapse. Can't flipping type either. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and scared. Feel it's all going a bit fast now and that i know nothing. cheers
