When i thought i had turned a corner and things were starting to improve when good ole mother nature has just thrown me another curve ball. Yesterday i received the medical report for the motorcycle accident and I can now officially say i have Ankylosing Spondylitis. It is a form Rheumatoid Arthritis I have known for a long time that i had more than just osteoarthritis, but trying to get doctors to realize that has been hard work. I took the medical report from a consulting orthopedic surgeon and gave it to the GP . He called me in today and The doctor has referred to the specialist rheumatologist in Ankylosing Spondylitis.I also told that my lower back is getting worse especially at night and first thing in the morning where it can take me up to 1/2 hr to get moving in the mornings due to the lower back pain he has prescribed amitriptyline to help at night.
so on that point there is no weigh-in tonight as i am at home suffering with lower back pain and told to rest till the new pills kick in and then to keep moving and stretching the muscles as it will help with mobility.
Weigh-in time a gain of 1-1/2 lbs which is not too bad at the moment, as I am fighting much bigger battles. I am changing a few food items to coincide with change of seasons and I will be much happier when I had my kidney stone removed.
On the health front I had Ct scan on Sunday as confirmed I still have the stone in the same place . Spoke to surgeon today he gave me the news that if the laser can't brake up the stone it will have to be open surgery with more time in hospital. Because of that he cannot arrange a date yet as they have to make sure there will a bed available if I have the full works.
As reported last week the back had taken a turn for the worse but with the new pills it has helped but not with some slight side effects.
Weigh in time last evening and a whopping 6-1/2 lb lost its taken a long 3 months to get back to good weight loss bring on next week . Health wise I feel ok fingers crossed I finally turned turned the corner and I am on the up. Even the leg ulcer is behaving it's self and is healing steadily that is usually a good indicator.
Speak to you all next week with even better news . I almost forgot I have passed 4-1/2 stone Mark last night as well after just being 1/2 lb away at the beginning of all the troubles health wise this last 4 months.
Weigh in time 1/2 lb loss this week but a loss is a loss and for me 2 weeks in a row Is back to near normal for me. I have been given the all clear by the urologist I have no kidney stone as said the is no reason for me not to start walking again and he more than happy for me going he is actively encouraging me to restart again.
Tonight's weekly weigh-in another 1-1/2lb loss this week all systems back too normal its been a long haul back but I think I finally on the up even to the point that I will starting my weekly rambles with the Portsmouth group on Saturday at Stansted house and forest.
Off to see the GP next Monday double appointment about the back and weight and waterworks Etc and sorting out the correct medications but on the whole it's seems to be going in the right direction at last.
Good evening
This will be my last post as things have changed and I my wls op has been cancelled as I am doing well and currently at 5st 12lb loss and the doctors thought that knee replacement op was more important and has been booked for Tuesday 12th September by my very nice new rheumatologist consultant so no pressure then.I still need to lose another 2 stone and get the leg ulcer heeled by the surgery
For the final words a big thank to you all
Good bye
paul
