Slimpip's Sleeve Jan'14

Thanks all for your kind words, fingers crossed for 3lbs a week, I'd be properly chuffed with that!! X

hope all goes well tomorrow let me no how you get on and well done on your weightloss xxx

Thanks Wenny and Crystal. I'm so happy with my sleeve, I just need to refocus on protein intake I think, I will discuss this with the dietician tomorrow. I am slightly concerned that my weight loss may have picked up again, but could be burning muscle. I'm just so tired all the time, so need to be asking myself whether that's just a natural thing and because I'm back in a stressful job again or whether I'm not getting the right nutritional balance to properly fuel my body.

Who said this was going to be simple eh? According to my weight loss app, I've lost 27.54% of my excess weight...in the space of 8 weeks...i'm thilled by this!! I can handle a few difficulties haha. X

Pip its amazing :) and almost unbelievable how quick it disappears. Its also amazing at how quickly we start to feel so much better, getting the balance isn't that simple to start..... will make a concerted effort myself next week LOL at the mo just concentrating on getting from soft's to solids :) gl at your appointment tomorrow i'm sure they will be chuffed at your progress. Maybe its just because your back to work with limited intake its got to leave you a little tired i would of thought!!! anyway gl and wd hun x x x

I hope you're right Crystal. And thanks so much for the well wishing, I appreciate it so much xx

your welcome hun :) they are going to be so chuffed with your progress..... I think you've done blooming amazing x x x let us know how you get on.

Well the appointment went just fine, they are happy with my progress and say my weight loss is bang on target. However, it took 3 hours of driving and a days annual leave to sit in their office for 10 MINUTES!! Slightly frustrating, but they said I'll have one more appointment there in 4 months, then after that only yearly, all other blood tests etc will be done at my surgery.

They are setting me up with prescriptions for calcium supplements and vitamin b I think. I asked if I could get them over the counter but they said no! Sounds expensive to me, I asked them why as this hadn't been mentioned at the education day but they said they are starting all sleevers on them. There isn't conclusive evidence that we need them, but apparently it's standard practice in the USA, so the UK follows suit.

Anywho...what a bleedin gorgeous day. Time to get out there! :) x

10 minutes bloody hell thought appointment would be a bit longer !!! did you get chance to talk to dietician as well ? I thought you got to see them every 3 months the first year !! yes heard of them giving you calcium and vit d stops you getting thinning of the bones , after care isn't really brill then mind nothing suprises me with nhs glad your doing fab and yes been wonderfull day I had grandkids here today and its been fab but I am tired !! your bound to tire more easily on little calories take care xxx

Me too Wenny, I was a bit disappointed. Yeah Hayley the dietician was there with Bryony the specialist nurse. They literally just said keep doing what you were doing. What was the friggin point in that? Anyway, I should count myself lucky that I didn't have problems to talk about. Some people have really rough journeys and I am so grateful not to have had.

I definitely don't want brittle bones so load me up with vitamins etc!!! X

I went for my first post op apt on Wednesday... I thought they'd be having a feel and look at my tummy, taking bloods aswell as looking through what my food and fluid intake has been like things like that.. But I was literally asked about 8-10questions, asked if I had any questions, told how well they thought I was doing and carry on then sent on my way... No bloods or anything...

glad to see your doing so well slimpip amazing loss so far

kirsty I think its very odd they didn't do your bloods after care is not good you would think that's what theses appointments are for shocked they didn't look at your tummy did they look at yours slimpip and did you have your bloods taken ? think I will be saying something and asking a fewe questions about after care when I go on 1st april makes you feel bit angry really !

I asked them if I needed bloods, they said nope, none needed.. But that's all.. Was in a tiny room with 4 chairs, a desk and a computer.. Was in and out in 15mins.. I was expecting being there ages but nope...

Same here Kirsty, nothing like that, I thought they might want to see my scars or take some blood but no. They say 6 weeks out is too soon for bloods to show any defficiencies or anything so they'll do them at the next one (6 months). I really wouldn't have minded had it not been for the drive!! 3hrs for 10mins, what a waste of a day, and fuel!!!

Thanks princess, sometimes I think I'm not doing as well as others, but then remind myself that we each have our own journey and losing really fast isn't necessarily the best way. I' happy with my progress and am excited to see where I am in a month's time, 2 months, at 6 months out?? Who knows, time will tell xx

your weight loss is fantastic and you should be proud you have done great well done xxx

LoL i had my first check this week too LOL my letter stated i needed bloods but went week prior to hospital date to discover i didn't need bloods !!!! hospital was a quick 5 mins with dietician to check i was eating ok and 5 mins with nurse who asked several questions and that was that LOL he did look at tummy because i asked him to check a wound. Luckily its only an hour drive, i met up with my hospital buddy and did some shopping :) back on Tuesday for new post op support group ...... Pip your doing fantastic x x x

pip we all lose at our own pace you might be slower than some but quicker than others starting weight etc has a lot to do with it aswell obviously the bigger you are the faster you lose then it slows but your doing fantastic

Aww thanks ladies. I'm happy with how everything is going and was really pleased to see that TOTM this month didn't have an effect on my loss so that's promising for the future. It is hard not to be impatient though isn't it? It's a lifelong habit I'm trying to break, in the past I would give up a diet or an exercise routine if I didn't see big results fast. Now, I have to learn to be happy with slow and steady, and it's an adjustment haha.

Hope everyone's weekends are going well xx
